Malawi court stops parliament from impeaching president

The Malawi High Court sitting in the capital, Lilongwe, has stopped the country's parliament from proceeding with the impeachment of President Bingu Wa Mutharika, which the house began on Friday.

It is a good development because our parliament has alot of pertinent issues to discuss other than the impeachment issue. Malawi is faced with hunger, increased corruption, HIV and AIDS and natural disasters among others. Why should'nt our parliament discuss how to overcome these problems instead of discussing the impeachment issue that has no good impact on poor Malawians?

Let the peace loving nation "Malawi" develop. Mature parliamentary discussions will yield mature benefits to both the current and fiture generation.
