He sounds like the reasonable sort. The USA for some reason wishes to topple nationalist regimes throughout the Moslem world and in doing so create more recruits for Al Quieda and Hezbollah. For some strange reason Washington prefers the jihadists. It is most certain the toppling of Mubarak and Qadhafi has brought sharia law to... b) That was the whole reason for the Balkans Wars dimwit. NATO desired more lebensraum in the Balkans and did not mind openly using genocide as a weapon to... even Stalin himself did not treat the Balkans in such a ruthless manner. c) Yanukovych will definately steer a neutral course. Veritas wrote: <quoted text> So, let me get this straight. You accuse me of using "outdated cold war era propaganda," but then you go back even further in history to WWII and the Napoleonic wars to prove YOUR point. Nice logic. How do you expect people to take you seriously? Are you brain dead? Obviously there has been no threat to the EU from the Russian Federation since the collapse of the Soviet Union. No need whatsoever to state that. The truth is that there has never been any such threat at any point during either Soviet Union or Russian Empire history. The threat has always been a German, French, Anglo, etc threat to St Petersburg or Moskva. The Russians have always been far more concerned with their immediate neighborhood. Not Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid... As a multiethnic, multinational empire ALA the Roman Empire and the Ottoman Turks the openly expansionist EU quite obviously is a threat to its neighbors.

Tell the NATO chief to take his medications for paranoia. Even better, replace him with somebody who doesn't need to take paranoia medications.

Like or dislike Obama, his policies to Europe looks logical to me. It is time to broke USA pull troops out and save a dime for her own needs. There is no powerful USSR any longer, on the contrary Europe is united and strong, time for EU take responsibility. I'm wonder how Republicans will argue stay in Europe?

PwrAndFlx wrote: Europe is united and strong Are you talking about the Europe that is fracturing before our eyes and arguing about who will pay off Greece's debt when Greece represents only about two percent of the EU GNP and yet it may destroy the EU -- or are you talking about some other Europe? Is that the name of a bar in Prague? Europe cannot even pay off its debt. How can it defend itself? But as a conservative Republican, I agree that the U.S. should remove its troops and allow Europe to finally pay for its own defense. Europe has wallowed as a giant welfare state for far too long. It is reaping what it has sown and we should not subsidize its stupidity any longer. We have our own stupidity with which to contend.

Anyway, I heard some enterprising 14 year old is making an online board game out of the whole thing and Congress is interested in it to train its aspiring summer pages. God bless the American entrepreneurial spirit.

NATO countries are pawns. We can't call these states as independent. Nobody takes these NATO promises seriously. Before 1941 we had a peace treaty with Germany. Don't believe in any peace treaties and promises. Never!!
