I am trying to find some old and traditional Lithuanian recipes, but not from a book, from individual families. It is my belief that Grandmothers cook the best food, and those are the style of recipes that I would like to find. Can you help me? Anyone please??
If you are on FaceBook, check out the "Our Mom's Lithuanian Recipes" group. It is an open group and has a growing list of recipes (indexed). It has almost 700 members and would welcome you.

I think that our really traditional food is "Kastinys", but I really daubt if you could do it yourself it is made from the butter and cheesecream by mixing it for a long time also herbs and smth else is putted in it. I don't know it's recept but it is damn delitious especially with hot potatoes! I liked it from the first time I tasted it. I think this recept is so old as all our SARMATIA ;)

Hi,
Regrettably I never learned the language but I learned the food. Our family tradition was klaustskis, spelling uncertain. I have found that only some lithuanians in the Boston area know what these are. Teaching my cousins the art of these, huge labor of love. learned from my great grandmother, grand mother and mom. I am in my mid 40s. This is. Meat mix of garlic, smoked shoulder hamburg ,onion garlic rolled in an impossible dough of potato and flour, boiled and then fried. Wondering if this is just a made up Boston thing or is it a traditional dish?
curious????

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Gemini

It's a red letter day for relationships under the Lunar Eclipse in your house of significant others, because you're facing some important and far-reaching changes to some of them. The pressure has been building since the Gemini Solar Eclipse on May 20. f you've known for some time that things aren't working out, you're about to reach a crisis point as becomes obvious that the present situation can't continue much longer. The coming New Moon in Gemini on June 19 will see progress of one kind or another, though this unusual eclipse cycle will have a far-reaching effect. You may have to be cruel to be kind, or more forceful than you would like, in order to get your point across, but do you really have any viable alternative?
