I don't care, that Wilno (not Vilnius!) was your capital for ages. In XX Century, Poles was a majority in Wilno - it wasn't occupation, because people of Wilno were polonised by their own will - so it was natural, that Lucjan Żeligowski (hail to him, for things what he did) helped to join Wilno to Poland! After the World War II Poles were brutally thrown from their own city. Give Wilno to Poland, thieves!

Lithuanian people after World War I in Wilno were about 1.5%. Poles were majority. What makes you think it's your city? You are ape, your country shouldn't exist - without Poland you wouldn't achieve anything :)

Let the Lithuanians have Wilno.

People should just accept the borders the way they are.

So everyone you disagree with you call "ape"? LOL

Can you tell me why Pesky called the Lithuanian language a "pigeon" language?

Pesky also said Lithuanians can't hold onto their electricity and need candles.

He said it. not me.

Well I will admit I am interested in what Pesky said about you and Lithuanians.

Pesky said the Lithuanian language sounds like a bunch of pigeons.

Pesky also said you are obscene.

Should I agree with him on these things?

Are you obscene?

I will say you do sound obnoxious and that's why many Poles and non-Poles on these forums think you're obnoxious.

Actually, most of the Poles counted in the census where actually ethnic Lithuanians who spoke Polish because their ancestors adopted the Polish tongue. That is still the case even today in the area southeast of Vilnius.

However, all of this is irrelevant. In fact, Germany, Russia, AND Poland all recognized Vilnius as the capital of Lithuania after World War I. The Poles expressly recognized Vilnius as the capital of Lithuania in the Treaty of Suwalki, signed on October 7, 1920. Within a month, a rebel Polish troops occupied the City in violation of this treaty and were secretly supported by the Polish leader, Marshal Joeseph Pilsudski.

You can argue that Poland had a strong historical claim on the City prior to the treaty, but Poland gave up any right to Vilnius under the Treaty of Suwalki. The fact that Poland then proceeded to break that treaty made under international law and occupy Vilnius without any legal right, demonstrates that Poland was clearly in the wrong. In this instance, Poland was no better than the Third Reich in occupying stolen territory.

Even if Wilno is your historical capital (but it was a Polish town, a Stalin destroyed it), Lwow was the city which was Polish for long times. Poles build it, and its culture. And i think Lithuania is a province of Poland, because it's the Poland gave christianity and culture to Lithuania, and Poland defended it from Teutonic Order. Most of famous people from Lithuania were Polish! And don't try to tell me, that Adam Mickiewicz was lithuanian, because when he wrote "Litwo, ojczyzno moja", he thought about Lithuania rather like province of Poland (for example like Wielkopolska). Many lithuanian families were polonised by their own will, so they were not lithuanian anymore! Give us our Wilno and Lwow! After reading his limited biography, it seems that Lucjan Żeligowski, an ethnic Lithuanian, was a hero in fighting against the Russian Bolsheviks.

But what he did in Lithuania was clearly wrong. He violated an international treaty which had settled a contentious matter between all parties (i.e., Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Germany).

It seems that both Żeligowski and Pilsudski were both Polonised ethnic Lithuanians, which explains why they rose to powerful positions in Poland (being physically and mentally superior to all other Poles).:-)

It seems that their motive in annexing Vilnius derived from their love for the City in which they had grown up -- as Polonized ethnic Lithuanians. But this does not excuse their illegal conduct.

Fact, that they were born in Lithuania do not make them lithuanian, as long as living in Lithuania does not make you lithuanian - because like i said before Belorussian have more in common with true lithuanian than you. Pilsudski and Zeligowski were polish, and they felt, that they were Polish, and same Poles in Wilno did. It was not occupation, it was setting Wilno free - don't you know the statistics? Lithuanian people were only 1.5% in Wilno. I think Wilno was more Polish than Poznan for example, and you should give it to Poland, because you do not deserve it!

Sorry, but Vilnius belong to Poland for 20 years or so, because Poland occupied it after the 1st World War. Yes, occupied. There was war and conflict, and we lost. But it doesn't make it rightfully Polish. Lithuania does not ask for Belorussian or Polish cities to be "given back" to us. Come on, once our country stretched all the way to Black Sea, but it's all different countries now...

P.S. 1,5% of Lithuanians in Vilnius in between the wars is wrong. Yes, there were more Poles than Lithuanians, but the numbers were closer to 40% Poles and 20% Lithuanians, if I am not wrong. About 30% were jews. Not sure about the remaining 10%, might have been a total mixture of Tartars, Russians, etc.
