Judged: 1 1 1 But (like a lot of former communist countries) the customer service can sometimes be lacking. Though I just tried to make it a running joke, rather than let it get to me. The anti foreigner attitude did make me laugh a bit though I must admit. I was polite and respectful and ok my knowledge of lithuanian could be written on the back of an envelop, but its not the easiest languange in the world (though I did try) and I wasnt expecting them to speak english, but the looks on some people's faces when they realised I was a foreigner were just hilarious, as if I had somehow defiled their country by daring to visit, never prevented them taking my money though I noticed... |

Judged: 1 1 1 There was a complaint about getting arrested for stealing. THAT'S WHAT LAWS ARE FOR. If you don't want to get arrested - don't steal. Soviet Uniot mentality damaged some of lithuanians, but just a small part, and they are pretty old now, so new generation is different. And how can any person say stuff like this about country, he doesn't even know? And how can people talk like that about their own country? Well, if they can - it's not country that bad. It's those people with bad mannars and self-esteem and the country has nothing to do with it. I am Lithuanian and i love my country. I don't want to live anywhere elese, because my roots are important to me. Yes, there are some negative sides, but, please, show me the perfect place. Oh yeah, THERE ISN'T. So please love my coutry on don't talk crap you don't even know about it. |

Third world country? Do you even know what a Third World means? When I was in Spain and Italy there were so many signs of a Third World country and so many thieves and bandits, I was robbed and mugged several times, but that does not mean I will post online that Spain or Italy are Third World countries. That is just unfair.
The other post by "Lithuania Ripoffs" sounds like some work of a Zionist organisation, I suspect. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Let's learn some history. Unlike Estonia and Latvia where the Germans conscripted the local population into military formations within Waffen-SS, Lithuania never had its own Waffen-SS division.the German administration of Generalbezirk Litauen (General Administrative Region Lithuania) tried to form a Lithuanian SS (Schutz-Staffel) legion. The Lithuanians, however, resisted these attempts, successfully preventing the formation of an SS legion. This, of course, infuriated the Germans. They retaliated against the Lithuanians harshly. Renteln ordered 46 prominent figures, including those who voiced their opposition in the meeting, to be deported to the Stutthof concentration camp near Danzig. The arrests and deportations occurred March 25-26, 1943.In addition, many schools of higher education were closed. These included the universities in Kaunas and Vilnius, the Lithuanian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Academies of Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Sciences, the Art School, the Institute of Education, the Institute of Applied Arts, the Vilnius Philharmonium, the Conservatory of Music, the Teachers' Seminar. Later, the Germans no longer tried to establish a Lithuanian SS legionIn 1944 the Nazi authorities created 20,000-strong Lithuanian Territorial Defense Force under General Povilas Plechavičius to combat Soviet partisans led by Antanas Sniečkus. The Germans, however, quickly came to see this force as a nationalist threat to their occupation regime. The senior staff were arrested on May 15, 1944, and General Plechavičius was deported to the concentration camp in Salaspils, Latvia. |

Veritas, you are a pure Lithuanian! i could recognize you from the way you speak. I am an often visitor in Lithuania, thats how i know it. your goal is to accuse maximum people around hoping your words will sound more loud. that how lithuanians do... IMHO - I would never suggest visiting Lithuania. its boring, unsafe and artificially posh! There much more interesting places in the world... FARMER Country! |

and again i have to admit the same, it's pure LITHUANIA's hospitality... are you are relative of veritas still pending for visa? how can i be good willing to your country, if you are so agressive to the whole world??? and i even know why... cause you have no future and it makes you feel depressed and abandoned. all you can do in this situation - show your baseless ambitions, but they will remain only ambitions. sorry for that girly... wish success to find a place to leave for from your beloved state! |

Lithuania is still repairing the roads inherited from soviet times... so far as I know very few roads have been built for the last 20 years... by the way - those new roads are built for EU money, which means a part of my taxes is invested to Lithuanian roads. ...they say to be independent and free :-) |

wait wait... Who started the first? Do you really think, you could slander my nation and people and expect hospitality from us? Imagine the situation: what would be if every morning you would leave your sweep just near your neighbour door and still you would be embarrassed that he is not polite with you.? SO do you think he or you are impolite? Furthermore, don't wish me any other place, I would never change my state to any other. And I have a great success here. I wish your success would be at least 10% of mine's! |

Everyone will admit that it is better not to build the roads and not to exceed your national debt more than 60%. Unlike other EU countries, such as Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland still have great problems, due to building more than they could do that. So I would sugest you to find out how much of your taxes will be paid to the Greece. Moreover, Lithuanian roads are not built from EU money untill Poland hasn't built it's viaBaltica road. It seems you are neither smart.... Just talk a lot... Please read more next time you'll write. |

comment 1: why my smartness is so important for you? you've mentioned it already several times... what is the reason? do we try to define who is smarter? moreover - my personality is not your concern. Let's keep the discussion topic. comment 2: accusing others (Greece, Spain, etc.)- does not make you look better! your friend/relative Veritas is using same lithuanian trick. it does not work here! comment 3: where did you read about non-investment to Lithuanian roads? are you joking?:)) guess that you were reading from some local patriotic sources, which will say you that Lithuania is the center of the world, etc. I can imagine how these sources are being created.. Your government takes money fm EU, but citizens strongly believe that they are self-sufficient, and you deny this fact! how can we continue discussion then? comment 4: EU support of EUR 72.4 mln for Lithuanian roads http://www.baltic-course.com/eng/transport/... there are much more info on this topic.. ========== Are you still sure about the roads? |
