How do you cut a cake so that you have 8 pieces, by making only 3 cuts? NB: Moving the knife from one end ot the other counts as 1 cut.

First you would cut from left to right (giving you 2 pieces), then you would cut from top to bottom (giving you a total of 4 pieces), then you have to cut the cake into the bottom half and top half (i.e you would put the cake so that its sitting o its side and cut from top to bottom), that will give you 8 pieces :)
