I went to a protest today in my city that organized a modest petition which they will present to the lebanese consulate tomorrow. All you need it to call for a real investigation into her death, get people to sign a petition and then send it to the lebanese consulate closest to you, and also call on the ethiopian consulate to do more to protect its own citizens abroad. For example, when an ethiopian woman is being beaten outside your embassy gates, maybe you can open the gate to allow her to flee in if she can get up (charging into the country guns blazing might cause a worse problem)

look, what happen was sad, really sad, but you have to know that police study the corona report which stated that she was NOT physically or sexually assault, death was SUICIDE, police did their own investigation and couldn't find any evidence to arrest or prosecute the man, we believe our justice system in lebanon, google it, its one of the best in the world. i dont know if you study or do law, but it is like this "TO PROSECUTE A CASE IN COURT THE TRUTH OR WHAT HAPPEN DOESN'T MATTER BUT TO BE ABLE TO PROVE YOUR FACTS IN COURT IS WHAT MATTERS" so unless you want a man face to injustice for a crime he didnt committed you wount get that in lebanon i suggest you go arrest that man and take him to china or burma or north korea, or else stop spinning your head on this issue...

I am saddened by the abusive incident that has contributed to the suicide of the Ethiopian woman. As much as you may believe in the justice system in Lebanon, I would like to express that any system that allows for a man to beat a woman and get away with it is lacking in basic moral standards.

Your comments are patronizing, and just plain ignorant. How is it okay that these men beat this helpless woman? How do you see justice in the manner that they were allowed to walk away without being charged?

This case should be treated as a homicide rather than suicide, until otherwise proven by independent entity and thorough investigation, including autopsy reported released.…as your claim of coroner’s report, it is yet have to be shared with the public at large and all those who are concerned with this issue, unless you know and privy to what the rest of yet to hear.

This would remain a crying rally , i.e. the death of Alem Dechaasaa for all those maid workers abused, mistreated and literally enslaved with meager or no pay at all thru out middle east., especially in the Gulf and Lebanon.

Why always Ethiopians are tortured, beaten up to death, dragged, raped and eventually get killed by moron Arabs all the time in Gulf States? These idiot pigs have no decency for human beings at all.In these states, pig Arabs can do anything to harm Ethiopians because there is nobody to protect our sisters who try to make both ends meet. Many thanks for our government for doing nothing to our sisters.

i want you to clarify what you meant by ABUSIVE INCIDENT, that guy went to the ethiopian council for assistance and if possible to hand her over to the counciler because that woman was acting irrationally, he couldnt get any help so he tried to take her to a psychiatrist to get her help she doesnt want to go so he has to use a bit of force to get her in the car, does he have a choice? and if you ignorant of our law let me tell you that an act against domestic violent has been ratify in parliament. lebanon is not a muslim or islamic state hope you know that.and also know that few days ago a group of doctors came up a with the same theory that the difference in altitude between her home town which is very high and beruit a coastal plain may have cause her some mental fatigue..

She was begging to be left alone. They were not police officers, so they had no right to touch her let alone force her into a vehicle. In any normal society, they would be in prison awaiting trial for assault and kidnapping/enforcible confinement charges (the name of the charge varies depending on your country). Since she "committed suicde" afterwards, they would all be held as suspects until her death was indeed ruled out as a homicide, which happened far too quickly in this case. your defense of the justice system there is laughable, particularly in light of the numerous reports of abuse and violence of foreign workers in lebanon compiled by human rights groups.

Don't turn it into a racism thing. People from poor countries are abused in rich countries all over the world. All possible ethnicities are abused by all possible ethnicities. Most arabs have no idea about these issues, because most arabs are as poor very poor themselves, and therefore don't have foreign maids.

I appreciate the anger, so aim it at those responsible, and those responsible for not doing anything (ie the embassies of ethiopia that apparently don't actually offer services to their own citizens).

I am damn sure that all poor Arab families have maids. Those who can afford to pay as much as 300 US dollar would hire a Philipines maid,Yet those who are poor at the same time cannot afford to pay the said amount would hire an Ethiopians at 150 US dollar only to multiply our sisters misery and agony in their evil countries called Gulf of Misery. What a civilized and kind heart people they are! I repeat they are pigs. And, this has nothing to do with race. Do these people have any religion?

We dont' have maids in the rich west unless we are wealthy, so everyone in lebanon is not likely to be rich enough for that either. The emirites are by like a rich neighbourhood and aren't the same, but places like saudi arabia, lebanon, egypt, are just like most nations, a few rich and a lot of poor.

There are almost 60000-70,000 Ethiopian housemaids in Saudi, kwait, lebanon and quatar alone( source Noor employer). These number is much higher if the other Gulf States are taken into account. This indicates that Ethiopia get a great deal of money from remmitance each year from our sisters who suffer in Gulf States. In my opinion, our ambassadors who act on behalf us there are not properly discharging their mission for they are not competent enough and do not know why they are assigned as an ammbasdor of our people in the first place.Since there is no such thing as accountablity of any kind in this racist shit government of ours, the misery and untold agony of our sisters persists in Gulf States till now.To this end, our weak good for nothing government would take full responsiblity for wrong deeds of all pig Arabs who abuse our innocent sisters who work as a housemaids in Gulf States.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Pisces

There's a clash today between the past and the present. Someone wants to dwell nostalgically on the good old days but someone else is determined to forget all that and only concentrate on the here and now. The trouble is that neither side will want to concede to the other person's point of view, leading to bad feelings and upsets. If you are one of these people, try not to be too entrenched in your own opinions.
