Former Waffen SS veterans demonstrate in Riga despite ban

Full story: en.rian.ru

Former Waffen SS veterans and their supporters held a demonstration in the Latvian capital on Monday despite a ban by the Riga Duma, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

Several dozen representatives from Latvia's anti-fascist committee met them chanting "Hitler Kaput," but police prevented any clashes between the WWII veterans and anti-fascist demonstrators.

Love this story. Russians vote Stalin third greatest Russian ever...and he was only a few votes from #1 and would have been voted greatest Russian ever if the TV station hosting the vote wouldn't have rigged it.

Now they are posting about WW2 vets?

LOL

Like the latvians had any real choice. It was either with USSR and Stalin or with Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. You do know that there were also alot of latvians in NKVD and the Red Army? That is why Arnold Meri is in trial in Estonia. Yes russians are hypocrites for respecting Stalin, NKVD men and Red Army but that still does not mean these SS men are good people.
Hitler Kaput? More like Stalin gone forever never coming back uncle Joe gone hehehhe ;)
Thank God NATO is in Norway. ;)

1) USSR, USA and UK
or
2)Germany, Italy and Japan

America was the only good guy. Churchill war criminal because of Operation Keelhaul. Roosevelt never wanted war but the stupid brits, germans and russians did. So what about that Kalmyk genocide Stalin and the russians did? ;)

USSR part of the good guys? Funniest thing I have ever heard. Did you know that it was the brits who invented the concentration camp model during the Second Boer War. Good guys those brits and russians. Good russians who genocided chechens, tatars and other people. ;)

If Stalin did not want war than why did he replaced Maxim Litvinov with stalinist Vyacheslav Molotov just months before the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, Soviet Invasion of Poland and the Winter War? ;) I guess you know why, don"t you.

USSR signed the non-aggression treaty with Germany just because UK and France refused to sign anti-Nazi pact, proposed by USSR. Soviet army were weak and this refusal forced USSR to sign non-aggression treaty with Nazi Germany which helped to win the time and create the buffer zone. So who is responsible that there was no anti-Nazi alliance from the first days of war? Not USSR.

from wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapland_War
"The Finns' task was complicated by the Soviet demand that the major part of Finnish armed forces must be demobilized at the same time, even during the campaign against the Germans. General Hjalmar Siilasvuo, the victor of Suomussalmi, led the Finns against the Germans under General Lothar Rendulic."

Again why did Stalin replace Maxim Litvinov with stalinist Vyacheslav Molotov only months before the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, Soviet invasion of Poland and the Winter War if the USSR did not want war? You were allies with Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. That was the reason why Hitler refused to help Finland in the Winter War because of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. ;)

Why was the Soviet Army weak? Because of Stalin"s purges of the Army and officers. ;)

Quote:
When Hitler's close aide Heinrich Himmler visited Finland in the summer of 1942 there were fears that he would demand that Finland hand its Jews to Germany. During a drive in a car with Prime Minister Rangell, Himmler had asked about Finland's Jews.
Rangell's answer was: "Finland has a couple of thousand Jews - decent families and individuals, whose sons fight in our army just like other Finns, and who are as respected as citizens as all others".
He ended his comments by telling Himmler: "Wir haben keine Judenfrage" ("We have no Jewish question"). And that was the end of the conversation.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
