Hey! I think Communist is always like this. They will never understand the Art of making a movie. They are selfish and they never let anyone go above them. They need to accept the truth. It's just a story or movie. To be honest, Lao is a poor country and they will never get developed. Communist never open their eyes to look outsider and take that to improve the country.
Thai is current developed country and smarter than Lao. Please stay away from a country that never open eyes to accept the truth. My last word is that "Lao will be Vietnamese's Slave for the rest of their lives."

This type of thing happens in all Asian countries, so let's not just blame the Laotian government. There aren't many inter-racial romances on television in any Asian country- unless it is a MAN from the country making the drama, and a woman from another country. No Asian countries seem to like it when television or movies shows an Asian man from another country messing with their women.

Since men usually control governments and TV stations, they tend to have an attitude toward their own national woman like their are the alpha male seals on a beach full of female seals. Lots of chest beating and bellowing.

Not just the Laos. There probably aren't Thai TV shows where Lao men come and have sex with Thai women. I can assure you that on Korean TV there is, likewise, not any shows about Japanese men coming to Korea and finding "romance" with local women.

Laos is poor and underdeveloped. But it doesn't mean it's stupid, selfish or slaves of Vietnam. They have a old world, old cultured, old traditional feel to their country. That's why they're so unique. And that's why their more developed, current, and modernized neighbors keep on insisting of becoming part of it, year after year. Laos should be proud of their country for believing in what they are, and not following in the footsteps of others who have lost values to their beliefs and traditions for the sake of a five letter word MONEY.

the objection of the Laotian government means nothing but a cruel joke to my family. This so-called virtuous Laotian women stand in line at the airport waiting for foreign men to come off the plane, especially ones who will work there - without restraint or morals. They do not care how old just as long as they seem to have money and all this with the full support of the Laotian government and of course their families. Young Laotian women with old foreigners and illegitimate children is becoming a common sight.

I know many young Laotian women who was brought to the USA by their older husbands. Whom I should say, are other ethnicity. Their husbands are 15 to 25 years their senior. Many Laotian women in Laos have children out of wedlock. Many of the young and teen-aged children in Laos disrespect and mistreat their elders. Many of the Laotian women lives with their boyfriends in Laos without getting married. I think Laos is complaining for no reason. They're trying to make their country look better than they really are. Laos is such a hyprocrite, "Thais might be okay with it, but not for Laos." Wait! Wait! Maybe they're complaining because what the soap opera is portraying is hitting them right at home. HOME RUN.....

Not must to talk about that look they walk backward for their lives not like other nations in this planet. Foolish leaders take the nation go down hill.

I haven't seen the movie yet but disagree with the stupid communist Lao government for saying it doesn't portray a Lao women a certain way or the Thai dude unable to sound like Lao. But I do agree with the flowers though. Why couldn't the Thai producers use a rose or another flower. That's a Lao national flower and symbolizes Laos as being like trash and garbage. I don't know, could be wrong cause haven't seen the movie yet, just going by intuition. And the soccer movie portraying Lao soccer team jokingly. Haven't seen it but I can take a joke if done in a right way. But if it was deliberately made to make Laos look stupid then those Thai producers are one big stupid, ignorant, a**holes.

I think the people with negative comments are ignorant. Laos has improved greatly over the past 30 years. I left when I was 2 years old, but have gone back 10 times now. I have noticed many changes as far as the economy and social life. The country has opened up since the early 90's. The conditions and way of life today are better(example:having electricity and paved roads). I rather have Laos today over Laos in the 70's or 80's anytime.
