Fears over Chinese boom in Laos

Crooked government pretty soon Laos will be run by the jeks. What a shame the commies would rather lose their culture for wealth. Thai and Lao need to realize that we come from the same bloodlines and our ancestors left china refusing to be assimilated to the chinese race and now it s it's happening.

Bo pinh Gnang! It is a deja vue! It has already happened in Laos and Thailand. King Tak Sin, a Chinese Thai, saved Siam from Burmese invasion. There have been more Chinese Thai to resume Prime Ministership sinceThailand's independence. Laos will follow the same foot step. Lengsavad is Chinese and Chinese domination from north and south. Main Land China from north and Singapore and Thailand from south.

Laos will be stronger thanks to Ai Jek.

I glab you made that statement about leaving china and not wanting to be assimulated, BUT know you have adapted to the khmer/mon way of life and totally destroyed and assimulated them. So what the differences? Its ok for you to do it to others?

Chinese investment in laos, and the same issue Cambodia is having with Chinese and Vietnamese plantation... These plantation are military post... China and Vietnamese need more land for their over populous country, those plantation will be an extended arm of their country. More and more of them will move there, kicking out the locals... generation and generation will be born there, they will participate in local election and locals will loose. Trust me, this is how they took the Mekong Delta from khmer. Its a simple tactic but very effective. Vietnamese learnt this tactic from the Chinese and has used it very successfully.

Who is to be blamed, the LPDR or the Chinese? Not too long from now, the Chinese will own That Luang too. That part of Vientiane will be rented to China for 75-100 years. This is what encourages the Chinese to flow into Laos. And when they occupy an area, they don't welcome Laotians. Boten is an example.

You can laugh but it has happened before. China is overpopulated and alway seeking new colonial extension of China... Loas is a good example, neighbors to china and poor.

China has plenty of money to lure LPDR for more and more land. Allowing more and more chinese to flock to laos... Northern Laos, especially the casino areas are already chinese majority... while the local laos are pushed outside, further and further south.

You can't blame the smart chinese or vietnamese. they do it becuase they can.

You have to blame LPDR and CPP for greed and corruption. Money is more important to them.

Laostians in general never realized that communism is not working for the people, it is intended for those who hold power. It is time to demolish the system and get those dogs out/kill them like they killed the Lao King. Are Laostians that ignorance or they have no sense where their country is moving toward. I was in Laos two times in the past and it was sad that the majority of Laostians live in poverty, but those who hold powers get all the $ and Euro.

The crooked pro-China Prime Minister was replaced late in 2010. Last year, the new pro-Vietnam canceled the crooked deal with China to build the High-Speed Rail through Laos. Basically, the HSR will not benefit Laos but costs a lot of lands and Laos even were coaxed to build some portions too.

Last month the Boten's Chinese operation were pretty much shut down. I think it was the test from China to see how Laos would resist a take over. Basically in Boten, the entire town blatantly had road signs in Chinese, everything in Chinese, even the Restaurant has menus in Chinese only.

It's good that the Laos' new leadership is showing strength, taking back Laos' city and land.
