Kyrgyzstan to shut down NATO's air base

Full story: www.russiatoday.com

Kyrgyzstan has decided to shut down Manas Air Base used by NATO in Afghanistan mission. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has been insisting on its closure since 2005.

Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev explained the decision with economic considerations and the negative public attitude.

Manas airport in Bishkek has been home to a thousand-strong American airbase since 2001, the year Kyrgyzstan joined the anti-terror coalition set up after 9/11. The US base used to be the main hub for moving men, equipment and supplies to US and allied forces operating in nearby Afghanistan because of its 90-minute flying time to the war, instead of seven hours from other launching areas.

Good, US needs to come home once and for all and have all its supposed NATO allies take up the slack and waste their own taxpayers money.

The Americans in Kyrgyzstan, as in other countries, are party to all kinds of criminal activities and especially the murder of a local Kyrgyzstan citizen by an American soldier who was granted immunity from prosecution for his crime.
In addition, the yearly 150 million USD America paid for their presence was a joke.
The Ameican stay was to be about two years and not the eight year stint they enjoy.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Exactly, the US pays out billions of US taxpayer dollars to corrupt Iraqi leaders and US contractors, yet what is given to Kyrgyzstan is a joke.

All I see here is a dumb fake cossack. Once again no cossack would be pro-russian after Operation Keelhaul. So if you are pro-russian than you must also be anti-british and anti-jewish? You cossacks hate the jews and brits but many of you also hate the russians. ;)

Actually, the Pentagon works now for International bankers and off shore financiers.
follow the money trail.

Resources, resources, resources. Then again, China has designs not any different, eh? If the EU is wise, they should read the Russian Philosopher who predicted thier intentions and forming. Vladimir Soloviev, in a little book only 92 pages long called The Antichrist.
( by the way, written in 1892)

Churchill would later call for a 'United Nations of Europe" lol

hmmm...... they dont become famous, until they are safely dead.

You're not an American taxpayer so you have nothing to say about our country. Watch out for your own country and leave the US alone.

$150m a joke. The joke will be on the Kyrgyz people when all the other free Aid given by NATO members dries up.

But Russia has given them a $2b loan and what was it $150 in aid. But $150m is a joke or is it for the Russian base in Kant.

Kicked OUT!!!!!!! How embarrasing.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Wonder what the internet warriors will do now. They never win any war, only spend money.:-P
I feel thou kind of sad for them. Little pathethic on the other hand too keep the hope on afganistan. Well we all know how this will turn out to be at the end.

The Russian army only go and do, never speak, never put them ahead of someone. Have a tradition of war hundres of years before America wasnt even discovered, won a couple of wars in 2 weeks :-D

While US internet warriors keep going in wating money and humilliate themselves once again.
Maybe they could travel to Russia to learn some tactics, as practicants :-D

Kyrgyzstan.. yeah.. Another country with "orange regime".. And what they got from it? Nothing. Completely. A lot of people want to leave Kyrgyzstan because of opression of human rights by local authorities.
For example, the energy in THE CAPITAL of Kyrgyzstan isn't on for a whole day, shutdowns are common practice, and a lot of businessmen got broken! But.. There are some houses in which power is on 24/7. Guess whose these houses? Yes, the political elite's.

The pants of Obum are filling up with his fecal matter at all this.

R000skies on the rise trying to kill Nato. Roooskie ships with war supplies heading this way.

Get a real man in there to run our country. Obum was a government/academic for all his life. He never had a real job like the rest of us.

Ha! puking putin playing his games again! Spending billions of russian bucks to pay off Kyrgystan government. More waste of billions of US dollars of russian money, more billions less for the average russians to fix infrastructure, and provide toilets, ambulances, fire appratus, hospitals for the average russian. Sacrafice, you russians, putin needs to prove he is a great dictator. At the expence to the russian people, who don't care as they starve to death.. Spend more billions on his imaginary war. To hell with the people. Let them starve and suffer. The make believe war is more important. We have to beat the USA.

The US soldiers got what they deserved. In 2006 a Kyrgys citizen was shot near the military base. He was shot from the US pistol.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
