They want to be Russians (Europeans)

They feel Kazakh language is inferior

They don't realized people looked them as Asians

They think speaking Russian makes them look macho

They are ashamed of their own identity

Others look down on them more by speaking Russian

They are not even as advance as other East Asians

All other former USSR's resumed their own language

Kazakh people are sick

All of the above

It's really amazing how Kazakhs identify themeselves exclusively as a group.

It's sad that normally people, of any ethnicity or culture, fail to realize that the culture they were exposed to since birth, and the language they absorbed are not indeed the culture and the language they themselves created. They are nothing but absorbers of other people's inventions. If they'd been born in the US,for instance, the language and culture they wouldn've absorbed would be American.

Typically, peoples that interlink a particular ethnicity with a particular culture and language are indeed primitive. Sorry Kazakhs. You're comments are nauseating.

I prefer not to be associated with any culture, ethicity or language because once you do people will always associate you with anyone, who does something horrible in that group of people. Plus, I don't find any culture or language on earth really appealing.

This probably explains why one of the bloggers in this thread asked ethnic Kazakhs to speak Kazakh instead of Russian. People in the US, for the most part, do carry group mentality. They have preconcieved notions about each group. There is a lot of stereotyping. If someone from the group screws up, the entire group becomes a target for either verbal or even physical harrasment.
That's why members of each group are very particular about who they let into their circle so that they would not ruin the image of that group.

I know Kazakhs hate Russians for being discriminatory, but I noticed that Kazakhs are very happy in the US, a country with unprecendeted nature of ethnic and linguistic harrassment. I guess the United States feeds them well, and they are willing to accept things like that.

"I do not think your questions do deserve any answer. And the ones who answer your stupid and arrogant questionnaire, are total time wasters!
I do not know why the CREATOR hate Kazakhs so much???"

The creator of this poll does not hate Kazakhs. On the contrary, he or she is trying to dissolve stereotypes about Kazakhs. Kazakhs, once again, misinterpret the intentions regarding Kazakhs like they did with the movie "Borat".

Kazakhs have to understand that this movie is not about Kazakhs or Kazakhstan. It's about severe predjudice against certain groups of people in the United States. Sacha Baron Cohen simply created a fictional country and named it Kazakhstan, thus real country Kazakhstan is absolutely irrelevant to the message he was trying to convey. You need to have some familiarity with American, British and Kazakhstani cultures in order to understand what's going on in the movie, and where he is coming from.

It's definitely harder to change your ethnicity, if you happen not to like it. But you can certainly change your language and culture. Ethicity does have some correlation with the location on the planet because you have to take into account the gene/environment interaction, whicn created different ethnicities to begin with. That explains why people in the north have lighter skin, hair and eye color and darker in hotter climates. Because of the rapid rate of migration it's hard for genes to catch up, therefore, people are redistributed in an ununiformed way throughout the planet.

The environment does effect your biology, physiology and ethnicity. Thus, by changing the location, you're no longer the same person, because the new environment might trigger certain genes to switch on or even produce genetic mutations in you, so you don't really have to be so tenacious and protective of Kazakh ethnicity, culture and language. Like I said in my previous comment, you were produced in Kazakhstan by sheer chance. However, you, personally, did not produce Kazakhstan, Kazakh culture or language. They were created by other people, who lived before you. You have no responsibility for what they did.

Just think about how you would feel about Kazakh culture, if you happened to be born and raised, let's say, in England in an "English" body.

"Why do Kazakhs speak Russian language among themselves? Don't they have their own language like the Armenians and Ukrainians. It looks ridiculous for a yellowman to speak russian to another yellowman in America."

There are several reasons for why Kazakhs speak Russian among themselves.

1. Some Kazakhs are monolingual. Russian is their only language.

2. Russian language is not one of those languages that is only meant for a particular ethnicity. I am not sure if things are different these days.(Russians are actually not as white as Ango Americans or Europeans. In the US, if you tell a white American that you're white while being Russian, they might simply laugh at you. US is extremely racist, and whites are very protective of their skin color. They think white skin has unbelievably high value, so to them calling yourself white is like calling yourself beautiful.)

Why do you think that there should be a correlation between ethnicity, language and cultural background as in Germans must be in Germany and must speak German only? Does it disturb you when Asian Americans speak English between themselves? Or is it the fact that Kazakhs speak Russian in the US, which includes 3 variables?

If you want them to speak their own language, then you should probably do it yourself as well. English is not the language you created, thus, it does not belong to you, meaning it's not your own!

Germans in Germany speak German among themselves. Americans in America speak American English among themselves.... But the Kazakh ethnics speaking Russian language among themselves in their own motherland nation called Kazakhstan seems like an abnormal thing!!

The only Kazakhs who are not ashamed of their own language are the Kazakhs from China. Your Kazakh youngsters only make friends with white Russians and do not even want to make friends with Kazakhs from China. Your people like to show off and prove that you are whites like Russians. Chinese Kazakhs are more friendly and they behave normal like any other Asians.

Being Asian is not something to be ashamed off because Japanese and Koreans have successfully proven to be competent and respectable worldwide by being what they are. And China has succeeded Russia as the second super power.

This is my personal observation and feeling. I have nothing against Kazakhs and nobody I knew is against Kazakhstan. I would like some scholarly explanation free from any bias for this matter.

Kazakh language
Turkic -> Kipchak -> Kipchak–Nogay -> Kazakh

Turkish language
Turkic -> Oghuz -> Western Oghuz -> Turkish

Kazakh and Turkish ARE related, because they are both TURKIC languages, but Kazakh is NOT Turkish.

It is like saying that Swedish is German.
Swedish and German are both related languages, because they are Germanic, but they are NOT the same.
Same things goes for Kazakh and Turkish.

Hey, not educated (average American citizen) guy. Firstly, Kazakhs can look very different, for example my ancestors where pure Kazakhs and that's why we have blond hair and green, blue eyes in whole family. But talking about Kazakhs in general we are 30% european 20% turkic and 50% asian. However pure kazakhs are 70-80% european and 20-30% something else. Kazakhs mostly have black hair and brown eyes(70% of people) but some people have blond, red hair and blue, green eyes(30% of people). Therefore don't say that we are yellow people.
Furthermore the reason why we speak russian with each other is because of huge russian influence caused of russian invasion, and my great great grandfathers began speaking russian, and my grandparents told me that russian people didn't let kazakhs to speak kazakh among themselves during the Sovet Union time.
