First iran says there will be a deadly response if Israel or the US attacks iran, then iran says there's no reason to be worried about war, now they're saying it would be madness to attack them.

Of course it would be madness, it would cause WWIII. And by the way "Israel 1948", I think what I ran is trying to say is this. That they are not a threat to the US, but if we are to attack them, a war will be started, most likely WWIII and therefore there would be a deadly response. If some one attacks us, we would attack them back. Why is it not ok for another country to do the same? We have to remember, if we or anyone else attacks Iran that Russia will more than likely come to their aid. Do you want to go to war with Russia or perhaps even Chine? I sure don't. Iran does not currently posses WMD. It would take them about ten years to have a working nuke. On the other hand, Israel has about 140 nukes, but everyone is ok with this, the Israel that is committing genocide in it's own country against anyone not Jewish, has over a hundred nukes. Why is this ok with the US but Iran, who has no nukes right now is being threatened.

There are other reasons why the US and Israel want to attack Iran. Let's not be dumb and fall for the WMD again. We fell for that with Iraq. Are we really that dumb to fall for it again? I hope not. If our government would tell us the truth behind why they want to attack Iran, maybe us Americans would be more supportive. Although I do not support some of the things going on in Iran, there are other countries that are more of a threat to us than Iran and also, there are several other countries that are committing worse crimes on their people than Iran is, like Israel.

What other reasons would it be? Oil? Because, the conspiracy theory about invading iraq and afghanistan for oil is a very stupid reason. So far we've spent more money on the war then we've gotten back from oil.

Well, if you look at one of the reason why we went to war with Iraq it does have something to do with oil, just not the way we think. Saddam had changes the way he was selling his oil. He was selling his barrels by the American dollar but then switched to the Euro. If all the middle east countries did this our economy would have collapsed over night. Our government does not care that our price of gas went up. They just want to keep the corporations that that are running this country happy.

No conspiracy theory at all, it just shows how incompetent this administration has been in it's handling of the war. They've screwed it up from the very beginning and it won't get any better at this point.

By the way, did you notice you got the no bid contracts with the Iraqi oil? Big American corporation. These oil companies are making hug profits while us citizens are footing the bill for their war. So, yes, one of the reasons we went over their was for oil. Not for cheap oil for the American citizens but for the big oil cartels to earn more money with their no bid two year contracts.

Yes, I understand ONE of the reasons was for oil, but I am saying it was not the ONLY one. But we have wasted more money on the war than we have gotten back for the oil. Basically, we are at war trying to get oil to feed the war.

(WMD existed)

But Son you are wrong. Yellow Cake was found. A specialized nuclear team cleaned, packed and shipped this WMD to a Canadian company this past month to be processed and used for other means. Saddam had tons of this Yellow Cake trying to refine it into weapons grade plutonium. The military & Us Gov't kept a lid on this one till it arrived in Canada. WMD existed. IRAN will have theirs sooooon!

Good point. Iran is positioning itself to take over Saudi oil interests. With oil, Iran will virtually control the US.

That's right...on no bid contracts for the industrial military complex.
It is absolutely about oil and natural gas, who controls it, the direction of flow and who profits.
The Caspian Basin has an estimated 5 trillion dollars worth of natural gas alone, and it was Cheney himself who described Middle Eastern oil as "the great prize".
What planet are you on?...not about resources.

No you're re-mapping the middle east...or at least trying to.
Others want to increase their influence in the region, your oil man administration would rather they didn't.

The Saudis are fearful of Iran's growing political power, weapons, and influence. The Saudis have asked the US to help control the raging beast. The high cost of oil is because the Saudis are saying "DO SOMETHING NOW". If Iran overthrows the Saudi regime, that would make Iran a world economic and military power who could control the US.

No I think the principal reason for all of this is the growing influence of the Chinese in the region through the expansion of the SCO, which after all was set up to counter US influence in the region.
Personally, I wish you'd both work together to find a viable alternative to oil, but I guess there's no profit in that when it come to the main players.

These filthy iranians better understand that they will pay the price for supplying arms and training for the shia militias that maim and murder our sons.

You are so right. When the Kwaitis were attacked by Iraq Bush I was right there. Ahmadinejab's ambition is making the House of Saudi tremble. Iran has an eye for the wealth and economic power that comes with oil. The recent high oil prices from the Saudis are a way of punishing the west for not putting Iran in its place.

I thought oil speculators laid the groundwork for price increases....who controls them?

Not sure if it's punishing western oil companies and associated corporations.......do you?

And Saddam defied the UN and said much the same thing. And Afghanistan freedom fighters "broke" the Soviets. Our "closest" rival today would be China... and only then if it were a ground fight.

The US is not going to attack Iran..we don't even have enough troops on the ground in Afghanstan. If we do, it would be is response to their attack, only.
