Well certainly they subsidise us a little since we've given them all those loans.

On the other hand if they had to borrow at their actual credit rating they'd have collapsed completely by now so I guess Clegg has a point.

The trend towards the end of the 20th century has been to give people more self-determination rights and to allow countries to split. This was actively encouraged by the West.

The Soviet Union did split in a myriad of countries, and so did Yugoslavia that became 7 (or 8) new countries. Even in Czechoslovakia, the forced alliance melted away.

Britain has supported this and participated in the collapse of old alliances.

So, it would only be poetic justice, and having a taste of its own medecine if Scotland left the United Kingdom.

why do you come out with such stupid crap? No-one ever forced Scotland into union. It came about peacefully at the wish of both countries.

That's a matter of point of view to say that Scotland wasn't forced into the Union?

In any case, there was no democracy at the time and neither Scotland, nor England were consulted.

King James I took it upon himself to bring the 2 countries together.

But what ensued was certainly not for the benefit of Scotland! In fact, it wasn't long before the Scots started to rebel against the Union. Maybe you forget that as well?

For this, Scotland was decimated, its people persecuted and the country completely ruined by policies from London.

Are you going to refute that as well? Or do you think the Scots welcomed it gladly?

it was not Jame's decision, it came as an inheritence. As it stopped war and promoted trade , sane people welcomed it. The rebellion you are talking about was the Sturat supporters objecting to the new order, which was supported actually by MOST Scots. Only certain clans rebelled. There was some trouble with Cromwell, but this was unsuccessful. By the way, the jacobites were NOT rebelling against the Union but because they wanted a Union with a Stuart king. History is certainly not your subject.

Your version that all Scots were willing partners in the Union since it started is just ridiculous.
Just a look at history would have prevented you from looking like a buffon by pretending they did.
History is certainly not your subject! LOL

If you can't deal with opinions you don't share but have to resort to ranting all the time, maybe you aren't mentally fit to get on forum, eh scumbag?

Also, the Winston Churchill monicker says a lot about your pityfull inflated ego.... LOL

Why don't you just try to have a wank instead, if you can manage that, and leave politics to edeucated people. LMFAO

Coming from you of all people, this post is comedy gold!

I don't think you're mentally fit to participate on a forum. Not without making a total prick of yourself anyway.

You're clearly very unwell.

You need a little sedative to calm you down.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
