THOUSANDS of commuters will have to fork out up to 500 a year more just to get to work from September.

I can't understand while at a time when jobs are being lost in their thousands, petrol prices are sky rocketing, the only alternative to driving to work is substandard public transport and tax payers are feeling the pinch from every angle that CIE chooses now to add an additional burden of over €500 a year for parking to use the same facilities that were free.
These are public services that our existing tax should have payed for. These are upgrades that should have been made long ago along with feeder buses to stop people having to go nar their cars. It's just so typical of this government, they never make changes unless they can charge the public an extra fee at the end of it. |

I think they'll start putting feeder buses when loads of people give up using their cars and are walking two, three or more miles to the station, rain or shine.
As someone who's fortunate enough to be able to cycle to work, you have my sympathy. |
