Does anyone know how that fireman is doing after the accident at the end of the parade?? I believe it was with the fire department that had the burning house with water float...It made me sick to my stomach to see that happen and have been thinking of the man since. If anyone knows how he is doing can you please post it. Also let him know that people have been thinking about him and wishing him well. Thanks Greatly

I'm a tad biased in favor of my friends, but I liked Stevi and Braedon Ennis with their goat, duck and chicken from Heavenly Pastures. If you liked them and support their loving pets, but didn't get a Petition to sign, visit her Heavenly Pastures.com or my site JeffreySpangler.com to get and sign a copy. Thanks for all you do!

At the end of the parade the firefighters got on a small pull behind trailer (it was being pulled by a mule type vehicle. The guy screamed everyone on--they all said yes. One firefighter got his leg wrapped around the wheel of the trailer--don't know if his pants leg got stuck or what but they had to lift the trailer up to get his leg out. His leg was wrapped so bad around the wheel that his foot was up at the wheelwell and I believe the guy was still standing--being pulled under. It HAD to be broken. It was horrific to see and I have been thinking of the man since then, Wishing him well.

How can "performance" winners be announced when all groups were not allowed to perform? Our group from So's Taekwondo was all set to perform at the square when we were screamed at to "keep moving, forward motion" and were continually screamed at until the end of the parade route! BOO to Hanover Jaycees!!!!!!!

Suggest you and your group read the parade rules, you cannot stop to perform. Jeers to you. Next year just stay home.

But at the square, several groups were allowed to stop. Why was this one not allowed?

That's exactly what we want to know. Why is "Rule" being so mean? I'm simply asking a question. Are we being discriminated against for some reason?

I saw some groups stopping for minutes to perform and last groups of parades were running because they were getting yelled.

I know from previous years the parade HAS to be over by 10pm. B-st and carlise st are main roads, you have to contact the state to close them down, when they grant the request to close them down--they give you a lotted amount of time, if you go over that time you are fined.
So if Hanover goes past 10pm, Hanover HAS to pay a fine...anyone upping their tax $$ to pay for that fine???

I missed the Parade this year. Did the nut jobs from Potter's House have a float this year?

The comment Rules said sounds like the woman screaming at us.

No matter what, a person has absolutely no right to scream at any child or adult. It could have been handled so much nicer/better. I had to endure 2 Jaycee volunteers screaming at myself and the rest of our group. Totally uncalled for an unprofessional. I also witnessed a Jaycee volunteer turn to the crowd and shout obscenities. Again, uncalled for.

How can you possibly judge performance groups when not all the performance groups were permitted to perform. Others got to stop for minutes at a time in the square to perform. We weren't allowed to stop at all. As a matter of fact, we were made to run through the square. Having little kids...5,6 years old and their mother's with strollers running was uncalled for.

As for the timing....we were towards the end of the parade. We were finished at So's TKD by 9:30pm.

It's funny Hanover can close that street down all DAY for the Dutch Festival, but a lousy 4-5 hours on a Thursday night? I don't think it has anything to do with the state, but rather whose pockets are getting lined--after all, those crafter's PAY to be there for the Festival..

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
