marriage to an iranian girl

I am hoping to find some one out there that has brought a iranian girl to the states for marriage,did you succeed in getting her here,did you use a lawyer,how long did it take?,I have known my girlfriend who is in iran for about a year now and we want to marry,I want to bring her here but I am confused about the whole process and she is confused even more so,I never would have thought in this day and age that I could ever meet such a loyal and loving very beautiful girl,she is truly one of gods children,I love her so much,I really am thankful for any suggestions anyone may have,god bless

i was just wondering what ethnic background are you? since you said you are not familiar with law of immigration process

all will be processed through US embassy in Dubai/
get a lawyer and he will jump-start the process.

your girl will get the papers in Iran and she will have to go to Dubai to get her entry Visa issued.

make sure when u go to your lawyer / you have copies of her passport and an official statement on her martial status / the rest will be done by your lawyer,

the whole process will cost you about 10,000 $
till she lands at your doorstep.

so get a job first.:) kidding /.. I mean congratulations.....

Thanks for the info,I did see a lawyer today and he said he'd do it for a $1000,we (my girlfriend)will still have to meet face to face before I can file for a fiance visa for her,I hope everything goes smoothly.

1000$ is a wonderful sum, but I think its an appetizer to nail you down, after a while you start to get the bill's which appear after the problems appear one after the other, and appear they shall. know how to deal with lawyers and get a second opinion.

By the look of it you will have to fly down to Turkey or Dubai to face her and add that to your costs.

I am surprised at all the post's!thanks everyone,right now I am the happiest man in the world!,We won't be doing much kfc and burger king,she is an outstanding cook and we both don't like junk food,I met this girl thru my best friends wife who is iranian and has known my girl from birth,my best friends wife is the most darling person I have ever met,she has a wonderful childlike spirit and there is nothing foul about her(langauge,tatoo's,piercing' s and such)maybe to some this is normal because so many american girls love to look and act like tramps,but to me it is foul and kills all there womanly beauty,my girl has a heart of gold and I would be content to die in her arms,I would rather die than break her heart,azizam means everything to me,We are both virgins,we have both saved ourselves for this union,I think the view about persian girls being demanding and materialistic is not true,at least what I have seen of persian women,I think she will do so well here,she has been in the medical profession for over 15 years in iran,we all know what these kind of jobs pay in the states,she's worked so long and so hard,it's time for her reward,and mine as well!!!thanks for the tip about the lawyers fee's,I'll definatley try to keep em on a short leash,I am prepared to go to any measure within the law to get her here so that we can marry,this is the real thing,not a marriage for citizenship,another good point about persian woman-they don't believe in divorce,there morals are like the way it used to be here 100 years ago,sorry if I have strayed from the topic,I am just happy and in love,thanks to all of the poster's for the response's-aa

second of all, regarding persian women been demanidng, and materlistic, only and only persian man like to generliaze about persian women like that, always sucpicious, you never see in any nationality man like to put their women down and been jealous of them like iranian man are, very few would be exception, nothing,nothing makes these man happy when it comes to treating women of their own race, unbelivble, they always like to gernelize their own women.

But the same man go out of his way to appreciate women of other races, like many rich iranian man who are married with chinies or filipina and they give a world to them, but never underestimate them ,why becuase they are different, yah the same man who like to call all iranian women materlistic.

Dear Audioadvent,
I am researching a similar situation as you are but I am a little further along. I am an Iranian expat living in the US as a citizen. I visited Iran last summer for my cousin's wedding. I met a girl there and we talked and emailed until a few weeks ago. I went back and asked her to marry me.
I assume it is harder for you since you have not met her and cannot easily travel to Iran. But you must meet her face-to-face, otherwise your application for visa is null. Plus I would advise you not to make a final decision until you meet face-to-face. I do not know your girlfriend and do not want to judge her, but you must know there are girls that want to escape Iran and would marry anyone for any reason just to get out. This will end up in a failed marriage. Hopefully this is not the case for you or me.

Currently, I am in the process of applying for her fiancee visa. I have asked a few friends that have brought their wives through this way and most of them have not used a lawyer. I have found out Turkey is easier to apply for a visa, because Iranian citizens do not need a visa to enter Turkey versus other countries like Dubai.
Most people tell me it will take 3-6 months to bring a fiancee to the US, but considering US relationships with Iran it could be a bit longer. But I have heard of no one getting rejected unless they had ulterior motives.

Please don't send the poor girl alone to the lion's den that is Dubai. It is not safe. Someone should go along on with her on the visa trip or else tell her to go somewhere other than Dubai.
