If Iran would atack Saudi Arabia and other gulf states, it would be great for Russia, because it would increase oil prices and would make Iran - a friedly country towards Russia to controll the most of World`s oil. Together with Russia, Iran would controll the entire oil market of the World. This is a chance for Russia to restore it`s influence over the World it had lost in 1991. So if I was a president of Russia I would sell the best weapons to Iran and would sign a defencive pact with Iran perhaps.
As for Israel, this is not a problem of ours.

Ralph Nader (the guy who wrote the article) is a Lebanese Arab. At home he speaks Arabic. That is why he doesn't like the way the US conducts their foreign policy against the Middle east people.

The guy who wrote the "triple entente" was trying to explain why Russia and China should side with Iran and form an alliance, stating that Iran as a friend of the USA will somehow threaten the security of Russia as it lies just below the belly of Russia. But he must be born after 1980 because prior to 1980, Iran was governed by the Shah who was more than friendly with the USA and Israel. That did not seem to bother the USSR. Why now?

If a country possesses nuclear weapons, you will have to think twice before sending troops to invade that country. Can China invade Pakistan, India or North Korea ? No. That is why the USA and its allies had to go into Iraq and probably to Iran before they can make a bomb.

You are forgetting that Iran could actually buy a bomb. They may in fact already have them, and are using this enrichment issue as a smoke screen.

I am not against the expanding of the nuclear club. The Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam , Thailand ....all should possess nuclear weapons. But ... not the oil rich countries in the gulf and Iran. The whole world need their oil.

Russia is more an exporter of oil like Canada. But China and Japan need to buy oil from the gulf countries. If you have Chinese or Japanese made goods in your household then you need oil from the gulf countries. It's an indirect need. If you need potatoes and the guy who sells you potatoes needs oil from Iran. Without Iranian oil the guy can't make and sell you potatoes, then you are dependent on Iranian oil.
