JF-17 vs LCA

JF-17 has an edge over Indian LCA........

The JF-17 will have "an edge over its contemporary aircraft........ particularly the Indian Light Combat Aircraft in terms of cost...... early availability and supportability".........

JF-17 is successful..... Hal Tejas is not...... it's failed and there is practically no hope left........

You can't make a larger version of the Hal Tejas..... It's critical-compounded delta wind design simply won't allow it. You will be looking at another aircraft all together, which will probably take at least another decade and half to design.

I see indians having a hard time swallowing the fact that their project is dead thanks to their own air force..... and instead they are predicting changes that we predicted to be on the JF-17......

order 200+ LCA?

LCA is not 100% Indian effort..... FBW has british components..... Radar is from Israel..... Engine is from USA..... All these foreign elements may only be for interim use..... however, at present....... LCA is far from 100% Indian effort.......

LCA's airframe can be argued to looks like a Mirages'...... I dont know if adding more composites qualifies an aircraft for 4.5 generation.......

JF17 is multi role already whereas...... LCA is primarily interceptor and CAS at short range......

The JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight..... all-weather..... multi-role fighter plane jointly developed by China and Pakistan...... The aircraft has been designed for high performance at low cost.......

LCA is still a problem child for the Indians..... while JF-17 is touching soaring high.....

LCA Tejas is going a lot of probelsm due to its Indo-genous Kaveri engine.....

Future PAF will depend hugely on JF 17 in numbers of 150+ followed by F 16 and then J 10......

2......... Not a main fighter but only for numbers.
3......... HAL and NAL are still trying to fix the glitches and fighting funding limitations
4......... Though astra is still in development but it shud be able to use a lot of missiles bombs etc etc, but other Isralei options for weapon systems and avionics is also available.
5......... Full digital FBW
6......... More expensive than JF17 but cliams to offer higher end technology. Though it needs to be seen how much the technology transforms in gains.
7......... Will help in dev of MCA IJT AJT etc etc.
8......... Dev time is killing and preventing india from even purchasing foreign fighters and in a way weakening AF in the medium term.
9........ Naval version and Trainer version too in the line.
10......... Kaveri engine is still underdeleopment and the earlier tests revealed its poor performance.

You cannot compare JF-17 to LCA....... It's like comparing a Hightech plane to a flying coffin (LCA).......

this year India acquired status of newly industralized country........hopefully Pakistan will follow us..........when they are out of mess
