That is because of the comprehensive nature of his or her training and skills, of which the society is convinced. And this is the scene all over the world. Have you seen a nurse or a physio or any other ancillary personnel who functions as the team leader in a hospital? Why does that simple logic evade you?
5) In countries where factors other than a candidate's merit matter in admission to medical school, one's bound to see poor quality doctors. Will the physios claim that every single physio produced in every single college in this country, or elsewhere, is competent, knowledgeable and skillful?
6) Above all, even if your claim for the prefix is granted (God forbid a time when I have to walk in to an OPD and ask the "Dr" there, are you an MD or a physiotherapist?), what difference would it make on the quality of service you provide? Will a physio be providing superior quality physiotherapy with the tag of "Dr"? Wow then! Answers: 1) All ailments cannot be treated with drugs e.g. Congenital Torticollis etc. Pharmacotherapy only is one part of medicine (refer Standard Medicine text books). Also, only prescribing medicine does not make one a doctor e.g. nurse Practiotners prescribing drugs but donot become doctors. Hence Prescribing drug is not essential criteria for being a doctor. 2) You gave answer to this question and previous one yourself that prescribing drug in not essential for being a doctor. 3) Physios, like Physicians do not have the right to decide status for other professions like lab techs, OTs, Speech therapists etc. which their respective professional organisations have to decide. 4) Yes, most of the disease management have medical doctor as team leader, but then dentists are not but still use Doctor, same logic for physios. BTW you would then call anesthetists, radiologist, ultrasonologist, pathologist etc as paramedics which is not the case. 5) Will the physicians/MCI claim that every single MBBS Degree-holder produced in every single college in this country, or elsewhere, is competent, knowledgeable and skillful? Specially after Satyamev Jayate? To further add-up, most of the universities/colleges providing physio courses are recognised and give admission on merit basis; and if a few are not following, UGC is taking action against them (as is taken against medical colleges following irregularites) and is a matter of improper regularisation of physio education for which all good physios want a central council by heart.(& will get it definitely) 6) The same difference it might have made on the quality of service the physicians provide. And if you think that prefixing Dr to a physician/dentist/surgeon do not make any difference on their servi ce, then what's the point of using it by them???

m.d.(gen.med)doctor treating a neuro patient they didnt refer the patient to m.d neurology Dr. same like some example,
a neurosurgeon doing a spine surgery then what is the work for the orthopeadic surgeon, a orthopeadic surgeon fixing a fixation for mandibular fracture then y the dental surgeon, a gynecologist treating a peadiatric baby then y pediatrician, a pediatrician seeing a geratric cases & poisoning cases, a dental surgeon seeing a orthodentic,prosthodental, and other cases. cardiologist treating a pulmonology cases anasthetist doing a gynec surgery (nagerkovil),neurosurgeon doing a ent surgery , general surgeon doing a surgery for oncology patient then y surgical oncologist, ada theatre attender intubating the patient, pharmacist prescribing medicine not only Dr's even the physiothetapist teaching yoga,accupuncture,accupressure ,etc guys dont fight for aberration of letter that is nothing plz every body basically humans plz treat and refer the patient for the appropriate treatment plz dont make money in patient. u . we. fell one day for that think ur friend may be a gen.med,gen.sur,or physician, or neuro.sur. or dentist or physiotherapist plz refer the patient. PLZ DO UR WORK WHAT UR SPECIALITY OK IF NOT UR THE FORGERY MALPRACTIONER

do u know now a days medicine and treatment I will explain u (my knowledge) a case of headache due to stress the case attend by a fresher Dr.x he examine thoroughly adviced medication.patient recovered . after a year Dr.x started a clinic the same patient came and same advice of new tablets that is AVAILABLE ONLY AT DR KNOWN MEDICAL SHOP.
the same patient came after 3 years (note Dr.x lab, Dr.x pharm Dr.x x-ray Dr.x ecg) patient adviced for routine lab inves,x-ray sinus, advised ecg, and the same old medications. after 10th year Dr.x started multispeciality hospital mri, ct, ultrasound, the same patient came now patient came same compliant advised for 1st c.t. then inform to the patient it is not clear so we take m.r.i results shows same normal but patient is not refer to other Dr. opthomologist to check vision . the fresher Dr. x forget assessment, differential diagnosis, Dr.x remember only one thing how we earn with this equipment (its looks like a finance company) this is promise true story a orthopeadic surgeon never touch the patient in the Dr room no assessment table but lot of guide working there coming out from the Dr. room sir x.ray that side scan this side x.ray, lab. plz stop fight for Dr. and behave like the fresher Dr. plz DO the Pt. need. earn money but do the right thing ok bye friends if it hurts any body iam sorry
