haitians starving in 5 years

So we all know that Haiti is almost completely deforested, while next door in the Dominican Rep. they have about 30% forest coverage. Already haitian deforestation is crossing the border causing problems in the Dominican side.About 80%(i think) of haitians depen on wood for coocking. My question is - What will happen 5 years from know when haiti is 100% deforested and most people wont have anything to cook with? Is this going to cause a dramatic mass migration vers the dominican republic, cuba and the bahamas? are the haitians simply going to starve to death in a Sudan like humanitarian crisis? Should the Dom.Rep start building a wall to prepare for what's to come? Is it going to destroy the fragile stability Haiti has found in recent years? What will the international community do? Does anyone even see this coming? Sadly, Does anyone care?
So many questions about this, please give your opinion, NO RACIAL COMMENTS OR JOKES SINCE IT IS NOT A RACIAL TOPIC.

They won't starve, they'll just keep crossing to the DR to destroy that land also, when they finish destroying everything then the starvation will begin!

one possible solution may be to send the Haitian paople the "solar ovens" that are very popular in African countries. They are quite inexpensive and very reliable in a country like Haiti where the sun shines almost every day.

heh T-Reborn....i am heading to Haiti next week...to help build another school....what are you doing? why don't you sign up with an NGO and go help out.... maybe in the DR?? the whole island needs help you know....there is poverty on both sides of that border
