This afternoon the pnc protested in front of the Parliament Building.
This protest highlighted the call for the reduction in the VAT and the ongoing food crisis the world is facing. The PNC used this opportunity to openly discriminate against the President and the GOG.
They were first to appear in Parliament to debate on this issue before expressing there views in protest. Unfortunately, they boycotted the Parliament and took to the streets there issues.
In what was to be a peaceful protest earing there concerns turned out to be violent and ridiculous.
Fires were lit, people were beaten and behavior patterns were such as off the road corner.
One thing is for sure, the way in which the PNC operated is unpatriotic and disgraceful to them being the main opposition party.
They had no concern with the police and there barricades which they barged through and began a display of barbaric behavior.
The pnc needs to pull there act together and realise that protests is not the way, Guyana will reach no where unless we all unite and work for the betterment of this country.

I agree 100% with you; the PNC party shows no maturity. Every time they are asked to go to parliament to express the views on issues that Guyana is facing they always boycott or walk out of parliament. They don't have any respect for themselves and the people of this country.
They take the street and protest against the high cost of living blaming the GOG and the VAT system for the increase of food prices. But Corbin still doesn't get it; it is him that is incompetent to know that Guyana is not the only country that is facing this situation. It's the world. Every day people all around the world are hustling to make a few extra dollars to make a living. Doesn’t Corbin think that the GOG know this? The GOG is taking measure to help the people of Guyana. The GOG has added lots of food items to the 0 rated VAT list to help with burden of high cost of living and increase of salary and wages are been looked at as we speak. The GOG are doing their best they can. The prices of food items didn't go up because people want more money but because the world is demanding more food. Food crises is been effected by climate change. So Corbin needs to stop pointing his figure he needs to get his facts straight |

PNC is bare talks, they presented the motion to be debated and they boycotted their own motion that they put forward.
Is this the way forward? I didn’t expect any better coming from the PNC. |

I am a supporter of the PNC but I never know that Corbin and his other colleagues can be so stupid of the fact that the President has nothing to do with the rising of food prices.
These people are really dunce. At least the GOG are trying their best for Guyanese to cope with high price of food. It looks like the PNC wants blood. Corbin today was protesting with a placard marked “A hungry man is an angry man”, that alone shows what is motive is…. Corruption and violence Even my 12 years old daughter can understand the reason for the rising in food prices. I am ashamed to know that all the time I was wasting my vote. |

You don't seem to be a genuine past supporter of the PNC. |

I personally believe that people of all walks and life would have preferred and gained more respect for the PNC if they had gone to parliament and battle it out with the ruling party. But instead of proving their point they take to the streets.
My question to the leadership of the PNC is: what the heck were ya'll thinking? What type of credible support would ya'll have when you take your protests to the road? Those couple persons making a ruckus cannot help you gain enough votes to win next elections. Look around you PNC, I don't think ya'll are that stupid and ya'll must stop using these people just like CN Sharma to make a big drama. Because ya'll know these people surely don't pay any sort of taxes. |
The PNC has failed to represent us as supporters in Parliament and they are corrupting this country everyday. I cannot support a party that is destroying this country. |

Many of the protestors yesterday was shouting 5% can’t do.
I would like to know how much of them are actually working. I know for sure that employers would never allow employees to take time off every day from work to protest. These people that are protesting with the PNC are people that are doing nothing good for them selves and are coming to support the PNC for the little fine change that he is paying them. The GOG should really call the International Organisation to look in and question Corbin as to where the $100m is that suppose to pay the scutineers. |

The PNC are going out to protest for many reasons. Some of the reasons are:-
1) Rising of food prices - This is a global crisis. We are facing this issue for many reasons such as climate change, spiraling of oil prices, higher growth of population in India and China which will result in the demand for more food and using grains for ethanol production. 2) VAT - This has nothing to do with the increase of food prices. This is the only country that has zero- rated items. |

The PNCR presented a motion in Parliament to be debated. The PPP/C was going to amend this motion to add the massacre in Bartica. This motion was on the Order paper to be moved and debated by the PNC. Corbin chose to join those protestors on the streets. This is to show that the PNCR pretended that they have interest for the people in Lusignan. Corbin is misleading the Guyanese people.

Corbin and his party should be ashamed. Imagine they boycotted their own motion. They show no interest in Guyanese people. All they are fighting for is power. I'm sick and tired of Corbin misleading Guyanese and brainwashing these people. Corbin should be punish for all he has done. In time Corbin will get what's really coming to him . SHAME ON HIM |

The PNCR will never change. They often speak about PPP does not care for Guyanese people.
Right now we are watching an opposition party that is playing with the lives of Guyanese. People are suffering and instead he gives the money to these scrutineers so that they can provide for their family, he is spending it for his own benefit and personal interest. Tell me about a dishonest politician. I hope that Guyanese will learn from they mistake. Next time be clever and support a leader that will support you. |
