THE Government of Guyana yesterday expressed concern about the purported misuse of public funds by the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR).
In a statement by Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon, at the Office of the President, it was noted that information has been provided that the main Opposition Party received $100M from the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to pay Opposition party scrutineers and has not accounted for the money over the past four months.

We cannot expect better from these people. They have proven to us over and over again that they are bent on just corruption and wants power so they can do as they feel.
In the days of there regime there were no record of how, where and on what was the tax money being spent. They are crooks and have proven so always, these people are not to be trusted with anything. Yesterday they erupt havoc in front of the Parliament building; burning coffins and portraits of the President. When will this stop? When will they realize that these hideous acts will not benefit this country? They need to realize this quick and join the movement to progress and a better Guyana |

I am not surprise to know that the PNC cannot give account for this money.
Does anyone really think that these protestors will take the road everyday without getting anything in return? Corbin has used this money to pay these protestors to protest and to create violence in this country. I would advise GECOM to pay these scutineers instead of giving the money to Corbin. |

PNC protesters are shouting:
"5% can't wuk" this is funny, when examined 3/4 of the crowd that were protesting are not even employed. Who would come on the streets every day to protest leaving there job? Which company or organizations give people days off regularly to protest? We could see where the GECOM money is going...... |

Ask how many of them out there actually pay taxes and can make a valuable contribution to the country. And the minibus drivers too what do they contribute besides speed and music and accidents?? DO they pay any sort of taxes??
|
you make your point very clear. i don't think every day people would come out to support the protest without getting something in return. |
|
Other than pay for items that includes VAT i don't think so |
|
That is so true. How much of these protestors are working? Corbin is paying these protestors with the scutineers money. I hope that the GOG and GECOM take this seriously and in future have some mechanism in place so as these scutineers can receive their own money. |

The GOG are taking this matter seriously.
President Jagdeo has made it clear that the pnc will have to account for the $100M that was provided to them for the payment of scrutineers for that party. PNC also were scamps and they continue to portray this in everything they do. When will they stop? President said,“Clearly the money has been misappropriated and misused. They have not accounted for a single cent as yet and from what I gathered there are some scrutineers that have fictitious names receiving payment, I have gathered also that some of the scrutineers are not receiving the full amount of money…We intend to get to the bottom of this, they will have to account for every cent of the resources transferred to them,”. http://www.guyanachronicle.com/topstory.html#... |

The PNCR have always misused state funds whenever given to them .
When this money is finished, the PNCR’s protest to support the PNCR will he depleted. The PNCR also intimidates the scrutineers, telling them if they don’t come out and protest, they will not get their money. |

Will Corbin ever come forward and present any evidence that the scrutineers were paid?
We have heard this man accusing the GOG on many occasions and when asked to bring the evidence, he always backs down. Only two days ago he accused the Minister of Home Affairs of giving instructions to shoot and teargas protestors. When asked to bring the evidence, he can’t. People must pay close attention to their foolishness that Corbin is going on with in this country. This is a time that all Guyanese need to come together and support the Government and advise where necessary. Apparently, the only solution that the PNCR has to offer to the GOG, is protest and more protest Gosh, we are tired of this opposition party. |

the gog is a fool to trust $100m. to those thieves. were those people blind to see what they did during their 28yrs in office. blame the ppp administration, for the fu@&up. |
