Today I challenge our nation to commit to producing 100 percent of our electricity from renewable energy and truly clean carbon-free sources within 10 years," said former Vice President and Nobel Peace Laureate ...

There are many Americans that will not give up their gas-powered vehicles, especially collectors. They either don't have the money to replace their car (which includes higher registration and insurance) or they love the car that they currently own!

The world needs Al Gore like it needs another war! This man is a 100% joke. He's out of his mind. When he starts doing as he preaches then and only then will I listen! Of all the countries that sign on to the Keyoto plan, America and only America has done something about the clean air program. Everyone else knows it's a joke and are laughing at us! Thanks Mr. GORE. You were worthless as a VP and your worthless as a man. Take a hike Mr. Gore!

Geothermal energy in not renewable and most systems still require the use of fossil fuels to run the generators or turbines.

The only activist I know of that has any credibility is Ed Begley Jr. He talks the talk...and walks the walk.

If Al Snore practiced what he preaches he may get more attention.

I read his mansion uses 3X the electricity of other residents in his area...he flies around in private jets... How big of a carbon footprint does he have?

Al .. AL .. AL .. PLEASE take your Oscar and go gently into that dark night. We get it .. you're all green .. and we know it ain't easy (props to Kermit). I think you've actually missed your target demographic. You should repackage "An Inconvenient Truth" as a cure for insomnia. I have to break it into six smaller parts to watch it. And then, I can't drive for several hours.
Much like your bid for President, reality is knocking loudly on your Keyoto door. The cost of your proposals is astounding. It's not like the world can flip a switch and go green, which would be the equivalent of a 10-year plan. I am thinking a century or so to hit 25% renewable.
I know that doesn't fit in with your plan of being enthroned as the "Guru of Greenness" and to be worshipped by every polar bear and penguin in the world. However, I think that right now, people are more concerned with loftier goals such as eating and living indoors. Selfish, aren't we?
I will do my part though, I have purchased those reusable grocery bags from my local Trader Joes. They are friendlier than those plastic ones and they keep my Gala Apples from rolling all around the back of my SUV. The last time that happened, I spent like a hour crawling around on the floor looking for them. Thank G-d I had the A/C and that Shrek DVD to keep me company.

I challenge all of you to get back to work and stop messing around on the Internet and masticating on about the Large Hadron Collider.

My car has 200,000 miles on it, and Al Gore will have to pry it from my cold, dead hands!

Well, mine has fwe miles, but the same goes for giving it up. I'll drive an SUV as long as I can find one on a lot. And to all those hybrid drivers, I say "thank you" for leaving more fuel for me. The chihuahuas and I appreciate the gesture.

i'm with you...i just bought a 'crossover'...better mileage than a biga** Excursion, but def better than the old mini-van.(it's my midlife crisis vehicle---too old to fit my arthritic a** into a little convertable) so i went for big and powerful...that would still fit in the garage!
