OK, so where's this 'accelerated' sea level rise?

Hmmm, let's see, if I paste one over the other and adjust the scale and time span then they should come out the same right? Let's see what that looks like:
So someone let out a graph with a mislabelled scale. This then set off all the whackjobs.

This is the same data as processed by many other teams (JASON, POSEIDEN, ETC) and they all get about 3.2mm/year. When you see something so far out of sync, you have to ask yourself if it is real or a slip.

Making a conspiracy theory out of it is just ludicrous.

WOW, that's amazing non news, especially considering sea level fell over 5 mm in 2010.

Hey dirtie you play dirtily.

It is news but you got it wrong here and elsewhere.

Also, you are confused because it was Steve who posted first. I brought it here as it belongs here.

Yep, Jason-2 measured steep acceleration of sealevel rise in 2012.

And what I posted over at that other thread was that yearly values don't mean anything.

Cherry picking one year as you have done is a meaningless exercise. If you take the entire satellite record all the way back to 1992 you will find that acceleration is a bit negative. Here's that Colorado U screenshot again:

You guys can try and spin that anyway you want, and the numbers will still say that over the last 20 years the rate of sea level rise is decreasing.

You are wrong. I could say a whole more but why educate you! You are no skeptic, contrary to one poster..

Do you honestly believe SpamBotty is worth educating?
I think he's best left alone, like litesout and donkey, to show passers by how stupid alarmists can be.

I was wrong about what?

I posted the rise rate for 2010, 2011 and 2012 from the data. Are you going to tell me those rates were wrong? If so what should they be?

I posted the link to CU's graph showing the deceleration of the rate over the last 20 years. Are you telling me that's wrong? If so what's wrong with it.

You can assert that I'm wrong or that President Lincoln's dog has five legs, but in the end you have to back your assertions up, and so far you haven't done that.

Nor are you a skeptic. You claim he is wrong but it appears that the only thing he did wrong was point out where you and your beliefs are wrong.

Steve posted hard numbers. Numbers that can be verified. Numbers that disprove many of the claims that ocean levels are still rising rapidly and sink those shoddy models used to support it.

You should first try to educate yourself before considering educating others. And I mean educate and not indoctrinate.
