In yesterdays Evening news on GTV there was a story on the effect of violence in animated movies popularly known as cartoons. There was then a video of an ANIME depicting the violent beating of a woman and another video of two ninjas fighting and then one stabbing the other in the neck. The presenter then went on about how this is not good for children and so on. The Point is that if the person who did the "research" for the story had looked up the meaning of cartoon they would have noticed that branding of animations depicting violence, sex etc are NOT cartoons and are called ANIME. They are usually not for children to watch and are rated 18+ for adults only. The story is completely wrong and ignorant in the sense that whoever wrote it thinks anything drawn or produced with graphics is for children. I think GTV should revise that story and rebroadcast a revised version, correctly educating Ghanaians on what is right for children to watch.
