the same in Israel - and yes all religions can practice peacefully- and the Arabs there have the highest standard of living in the middle east (not sure about those oil rich countries, but they have the highest standard of that area. They may complain but it is much better to live there than in Palenstine. In Israel, they vote for the heads of state, and when there is corruption, as was the case, they have a trial and get rid of them (unlile a plaace like Iran where the corrupt just stay). Why don't you try living in Iran and see how very democratic it is? What was that he said? There are no homosexuals in Iran? Probably they killed them all.
Please, please, do not try to insult my intelligence with your crude zionist propaganda!!

Now we are left to applaude Israel for the high standard of living they have inflicted on the unsuspecting Arabs!!

STOP YOUR BULLSHIT, RIGHT THERE !!!

Arabs are second class citizen in Israel, not even free to travel as they wish, to visit relatives, to frequent their mosques, to attend universities, etc...

So STOP YOUR LIES!!! I have visited Israel, and my wife lived there for 6 years!! I know what I am talking about: my wife is Jewish!!

For Arabs, Israel is a huge concentration camp. As for the Palestinians who live in utter dispair in Gaze and the West Bank, they have been despossessed of their land: Israel belongs to them!!

Raymond, I think that suellen AKA parisienne from Branford, CT is a phoney.

I seen to remember the ISP of someone who used to come on this forum to bash France.
Now it's the crude zionist propaganda we are subjected to!

These posters from the US. they never come with the smell of roses, do they?

I think you should go and live there and see for yourself what a paradise Iran must be. I doubt you will be able to express yourself on a forum either. Good Luck.

I don't think that was me, but we do have freedom of speech here --and please check out the subject of the thread -- French being rude-- how come you chose this one?

Prevalent in America?? What about all the Iranians that protested the sham and got threatened and killed. And that was well covered on French news. I was there at the time, so dont tell me it is an American opinion. It is also a French opinion, but not an opinion, since it is a fact. And why are you apologizing for Iran? I think you should go and live there if you think its such a wonderful place

Was not me but I don't think it would be difficult to find people on this forum bashing France, since that is the subject of the forum in the first place.

What Iranians do at home is not my concern.

Unlike Americans, I don't think we have to meddle in their internal affairs. That's what got the Yanks so unpopular in Iran in the first place!!

Apologist for Iran? No.

But I must say that a country that receives criticism from Americans become straightaway more sympathetic!

Your logic is faulty since the election scam and violence was well-covered and commented on in France as well, so your own country is criticizing Iran as well

The object of this forum is not to bash France but to debate if the French are rude.

It has been explained at length why they are particularly rude to Americans: the French don't easily suffer fools!!

What the media in France choose to report has nothing to do with me, and I do not have to agree either with their comments.

Maybe you feel the impulse to agree with every thing your media feed you with, but I prefer to be different and make my own opinion.

Iran and Iranians have done nothing to me, and I do not see the needs to jump on the American bandwagon and start to demonise them because it's the fashion in Washington. It's all part of America's arrogance.

In many cases, I agree with America's enemies.

My observation in France is that the French were rude to everybody -- including each other. They were not particularly rude to me any more than they were with anybody else. The logic of the previous disucssions defends French peoples' rudeness because there is something wrong with Americans, but that logic does not work, because they are just rude to everybody. I could be with French people and observed all kinds of rudeness directed towards them. I did not find this kind of rudeness in any other country, and I have visited 6 continents and numerous countries. There is a book out written by a Frenchman called " Pourquoi les Francais sont les plus inhospitaliers du monde", so it is largely recognized. This idea that the French are rude because the Americans deserve it is just incorrect. Ask the Brits, Australians or any other group, and they will tell you the same thing.

Apparently this was a survey done by travelers around the world

So stop blaming the French rude behavior on the Americans. How did the people from all these other nationalities arrive at the same conclusion?

LONDON, May 20, 2006 (AFP)- The French were voted the world's most unfriendly nation by a landslide in a British poll published on Saturday. They were also voted the most boring and most ungenerous.

A decisive 46 percent of the 6,000 people surveyed by travellers' website Where Are You Now (WAYN) said the French were the most unfriendly nation people on the planet, British newspapers reported.

WAYN's French founder, Jérome Touze, told the papers he had been stunned by the thumping condemnation of his compatriots and sought to blame it on Gallic love-struck sulking.

"I had no idea

that the French would emerge as such an unfriendly country," he said.

"I think our romantic 'moodiness' is misunderstood and I will be sure to pass on the message to my family and friends back in France to be a bit more cheerful to tourists in the future."

The French look at America as arrogant, ill mannered, obnoxious, and self righteous.

The Americans look at France as arrogant, ill mannered, obnoxious, and self righteous.

But our national interests are the same around the world. We just have different views on how to advance those interests. This all makes for a very interesting alliance. Personally I'd like America to say F you to the world and go back to the way we did things before WW2. But that will never happen....sigh

Actually, I do not agree with this survey -- the most unfriendly people in the world would have to be the Iranians sine they have a very annoying habit of chopping off the heads of Westerners.

My goodness. Ive read some of the posts on this forum and just by reading what the french people have said just proves that they are rude. I come from thick french ancestry (Im not calling myself on expert on french culture or calling myself a true french) and from the kind of people my grandparents were I was going to post something positive but now I dont know what to post. I get it you guys HATE americans but from reading how you presented this fact with your posts calling everyone childish and uneducated... well it only goes to prove the over all fact. The french are rude. Well now I know my grandparents were a diamond in the rough when it came to the french.

The French are not rude at all! All nations find it difficult to assimilate with ignorant Americans. That is a fact!
