The Argentine government is hardly ever going to win the hearts and minds of the Falkland Islanders acting like they do, like bafoons. You should learn to live with the Falkland Islands being British and get on sorting out your domestic politics. Nosotros no queremos conquistar a nadie. You have got the principle point of the text back to front. The answer to your question is in the text as pointed out to you. Stop being such a blind idiot and read the responses given and the texts provided where it clearly mentions the 1974 date, but its meaning is completely the reverse of the meaning you would love to hold on too. Give it up my friend you are starting to loose all credibility. <quoted text> Perder credibilidad?.

You have stopped air flights.. You have attempted to stop shipping and trade links to us.. You have demanded many other things... It's seen that all this is designed to harm us Falkland Islanders, not the UK... Yet you say you will only talk with the UK and not us.. So with the exception that I happen to live in the Falkland Islands, what have I done to deserve that possible punishment..? I didn't steal anything in 1833 - how could I? I wasn't even born that long ago.. Perhaps, you want to punish us for not wanting to annexe ourselves to that great and wondrous country called argentina. Which incidentally, we see no other country neighbouring you clamouring to do so, so what is good for them might also be good for us.. Kindest regards from the Falkland Islands Hello Deanstreet, I'm an argentine and I want you to know that I don't blame kelpers for the stealing. I actually think that kelpers hasn't been treated with respect. I mean, I don't understand how Cristina Kirchner pretends to get back the Islands when she doesn't respect the people there. That's what I think. People here are really hurted about what happened with the Islands. I'm one of them. But I don't think that hate is the solution. Malvinas are argentine. I have no doubts. I think kelpers should wait a little until Cristina leaves (hope that's soon...) to make a decision. They have to be argentine but kelpers should also be able to live there with the respect you deserve. Kelpèrs are also people. And british are also people. And that's what argentine minds are not thinking. they think from the hate, and they're not being objective. Anyways, british are no saints. The other day, I saw a picture of a cup with a South American map, and Argentina was not there. They changed it for the "Merda Sea". That makes argentine people to hate british. And our goverment is not helping to have a better relation with Great Britain. So it seems like this is never going to end! Let just stop for a second... think... this is stupid. Argentine and british should take a sit and dialog about this. I DO NOT BLAME kelpers. Was the goverments back in time. Margaret Thatcher and Galtieri are guilty. Also the context of both countries are guilty. Greetings from Argentina.

Repito, jamas!. Iba a devolvernos o entregarnos.

The Falkland Islands are British - Continuous settlement since 1833, Convention of Settlement Treaty signed by Argentina in 1850 and morally also as the Falkland Islanders wish to remain British they have that right under the UN charter. Argentina has only been using the 'Great Malvinas Lie' since the time of Peron. Argentine politicians know that they have no legal nor moral case when it comes to the Falklands and the problem is that they haven't got the guts to admit this to their people and are happy to bluster on to distract their public. Perhaps when Timmerman's legal actions against British companies drilling for oil in the Falklands comes to nothing people in Argentina will realise that they have absolutely no case, they will just get on with their lives.
