Very good topic. It is not destroying it has already destroyed. We will never develope while our people are chewing this satanic leafs. I hope to see our society with this addictive leafs. By the way, it depends our leaders they can root out and chang its place a coffee plantation but unfortunately they don't care.

However we are politically and regiously different we have alot in common as Ethiopians, Horner and East African, the development of one society will affect positively the others society.

Thank you dear! This devilish leaf has already rendered so many lives and families in perils all the way from Yemen through Somali land to the Ethiopian highlands as you said.It possess the whole of your life while alive with little regard for every thing around you, not to mention the fact that many peoplelost their minds just because of it.As I noticed the people of Harar and Dire Dawa and all the west/east Haraghe Zones are th most affected people of all Ethiopia eventhough htey earn a lot from producing and selling this leaf.To make matters worse, the government considers it as one of the export items.And at least in the short term no one will take the initiative to take some action against farming or selling this item.However,there is some awareness creation movement and I think people are learning from others lives,especially in Addis.As you said, as far as this leaf is there; we don't have a positive growth prospect just because the young generation capable of creating and moving economies keep on being enterupted by it.
