you know what timket boy ? Mengistu was one of the best leader in the history of ethiopia even in africa. you were a small boy when he rull the africa and you don't have to say a word about the breave leader africa have ever seen.
he did a lot of good things and you cant erase it by your childish emotion.
mengistu has his owen short comming but you like it or not he was the only one person who love his country and fought till the last minut for the thing he believe was good for his country.
i like meles zenawi for some thing he is doing for this country , like the ecomic growth , but there is also some thing i don't like about him.
but right now you like it or not he rull's you and you familly back at home.

your evaluation about leaders is weird. leaders should be assessed by their out come or their result. if they do a good job their results will be good. the result we got from his 17 year is tplf.the worst that can happen to Ethiopia. please,dont be emotional. see things constructively.

i agree with timket, what do we got from Meles's regime. Pain and suffering and corruptions. nowadays we're going back to pre-derg ideology. What’s the different between mengust and meles. mengust loves his country, wish he get a shot at it one more time ruling in Ethiopia.

I disagree with your idea for the fact that none of them have truly appriciated the casue of the south. you love ethiopia and takling about a leder who may do the best for the galory of the northern Ethiopian. but I hate! You know people, all ethiopainpeople, I have not heard any learder to be called oh he was so good. So who ever comes he is the one who gets all the bleam, why? You know what I know I might say i know about Mengistu's leadership than Hileselase so when he was on the postion most of ethopian was liked him I believe but , after he left he got all the bleam now we have a"durye" mengest so he got all the bleam and now we like "Kenget" do we know them very well and If they could get the postion they would get the bleam from ethiopian people because ethiopian do not know how we appricate that we should learn . please learn how to say thnak you and appricate.

For the ppl of ethiopia, it was not even a choice we had to accept who ever but mengistu's regime; unfortunatly the woyane become worst than mengistu. at last regarding to Kinijit at least almost all are educated, no financial problem and know what they do and at least they are not coming to power with guns guns guns guns.........

I agree with Jawisaw,...i think we all are jumping on the wrong wagon. The trouble with us (all ethiopians)is we never try to go through the basic learning curve on poltics but we all try to prentend like poltician from nowhere. Leave poltics to the politicans, respect, appreciate their efforts and if things go wrong like at the moment then sit back, get togther irrespective of race and fight back. i also agree with most of the comments on the current govement whaich is shamble but mengistu is no saint either.

You have no idea how difficult it is to make happy every single nation in the country,
Let alone the country which full of people instead of working hard and change the way of living complain about government by eating CHATT the whole day.
1st stop eating CHATT the whole day like a GOAT work hard to change the country.
2nd go to college and have some degree
3RD ask your self what did you contribute to make Ethiopia a better place.
