East Timor police use tear gas to break up protest against plan to buy lawmakers new cars
Police in East Timor's capital fired tear gas Monday to disperse students protesting a plan by lawmakers to buy themselves new cars with state funds, authorities said.

East Timor is safe to work in. I visit every year for a month or more, the real question to ask is are you going to help the people of Timor Lorisae or be another bureaucrat for the most recent occupation, or work for an NGO sitting in an air conditioned office in the capital, something they have too much of already.
