What you are mentioning here is Old Testament (OT) which refers to Judaism, which in turn is more similar to Islam. Christianity is based on new Testament (NT). New testament follows the Mosaic law with more humane applications--not the harsh OT way. That is the fundamental difference between Islam and Christianity. Islam like Judaism follows the crude and harsh application of laws, whereas Christianity preaches laws should be applied with common sense.
