I rest my case. Not just against us Turks. Also, Europe racist against Africans, Asians, Jews, and many other cultures where Europeans think that they don't should not be accepted, yet there was huge opposition against Nazis in Europe whom built the machine of racism in Europe in 1940's. Why the Nazis were fought against? Weren't they racist enough? Also, Europeans fought each other as well to the bitter end for centuries. Why is there such acceptance among specially Germans, British, and all other European countries? Is religious opinion that important or is it all economic or both? From what I have observed in past twenty years, the countries with questionable economic backgrounds and high unemployment rate like Poland, Romania, Estonia and such were accepted with full EU privileges and they all were post Soviet iron curtain countries. So what is the common denominator? Why Europe or Greece for that matter are so bluntly racist to Turks or other certain cultures where I mentioned earlier? What is EU afraid of or tring to prevent? Is it Islam? Is it the past conquest of Ottomans? What is it?
It's because Turks don't have similar values eg democracy, freedom of speech, the Cyprus problem, honour killings, virginity tests, wife-murdering, threatening much smaller countries, harrasing and murdering Kurds and armenians, anti-cypriot, greek and Israeli behaviour and the list goes on and on, are these issues a direct result of the Islamic religion? you tell us

No, they are not the direct result of Islamic religion. However, all cultures have their own certain issues. Don't Greeks have any cultural issues within Greece? One thing that bothers Turks and is probably the most important of all that Kurdish and Armenian notion of creating an independent Kurdish and Armenian States within the national borders of Turkey and that can not be allowed at least not while I am and other Turkish patriots are alive. Because, it has been earned with Turkish Soldiers and Nationalists blood back in 1920's. When Ottoman Empire was breaking apart, all the western cultures wanted a piece of the dying empire. Us Turks are determined people and can not and will not live under no other nations dictatorship. A country can not be established without bleeding for it first. Our history is filled with glory and we are proud of it. I am sure you Greeks have certain historical moments that you all can be proud of. Bottom line is, we are who we are and our land is our land. As far as the Cyprus goes, you have south and we have north Cyprus. We can all live in peace if we choose to.

That's all good and well, Turkey should not be dictated to by any Country, however Turkey is dictating to the TC's, GC's, Greece, Israel and others, also posturing and attempting to intimidate. It just can't work this way, other countries and peoples also have their pride, culture and need to defend themselves, and have bled as you say fighting for their freedom. Turkey's politicians are the ones who matter and need to send the right signals, not threats. Cyprus for Cypriots would be a start.

I don't disagree that we do need the right government reform and it has been getting better since 70s. We are a peaceful culture however, we can not allow separatist movements from Kurds and such like PKK. This is not any different than your belief of Cyprus is for Cypriots or Greece is for Greeks. However, Turks in Cyprus do want to live in peace with the Greeks in Cyprus. If all the sides agree, we wouldn't even need borders in Cyprus. That's how we should think. I personally find Greeks and Turks not that different . I also believe that religious opinion should come second or third even.

Indeed, possibly the Kurds wish to have the same democratic rights which Turks enjoy, similar to what the TC's expect in Cyprus? I can tell you that my parents and other GC's here even now speak of their Turkish friends in the village with affection, I posted this on my first comment on Topix and copped a load of abuse from the Turks here, the problem with Cyprus from my understanding was the British, the GC's were fighting for independence and the British used the TC's for their advantage, the dynamics shifted then to antagonism between the Gc's and TC's and here we are. Now the Gc's face off with Turkey which has 80m people through no fault of their own and I'm disregarding Sampson because he had his own agenda.

The man you called Barbarian had a Greek mother, could speak 7 languages, was very well-educated, and successfully raised Ottomans from a state into an empire.
If Mehmet was a Barbarian, so was Alexander. What do you think: in the pre-modern era monarchs forged empires without conquering lands in wars, along the way many people being killed and many women being raped?
----------
Sure. He was taken by force from his Greek mother's hands. A Turkish speciality at the time. His mother was probably butchered by the Turkish butchers. You raised him up as a Turk and tought him to hate all Greeks.(Gennitsari). You gave him a military education, and made him an officer in the Turkish army. You sent him to fight and kill as many Greeks as possible. You married him to a nice Turkish girl from the upper class. They had many children. This is very common story because the Greek children forcefully taken from their mothers then were in to the thousands.
In a very bizare way this was probably the wisest thing you ever did throughout your bloody history. Unknowingly you enriched your common attilla blood with Greek blood. To your own words, it took one of these Greek children(Gennitsari)to raise the Ottomans from a state to an empire. His children within and without his marriage were as mutch Greek as Turkish. And come to think of it No Turk of today can be absolutely sure that he does not carry Greek blood and this includes yourself!

Another Greek moron. You touch one of this idiots and he begins uttering the typical Greeks crap. Let's try to educate this Greek idiot, although my past experience says it will probably be in vain:

1) Are you even aware whom you are talking about? Do you know who Mehmet the Conquerer is? He is the Ottoman Sultan you fcuking Greek idiot. His father was Sultan Selim. No one picked him up from his family; he was born and had grown up in Ottoman palace, raised as the future Sultan.

2) Let's come to mixing our Turkish blood with Greek filth. Of course you idiot also do not know that Yeniceris (Christians kids raised as Muslims and recruited to Ottoman army) WERE NOT ALLOWED TO MARRY OR HAVE KIDS. So have no worries; we took the necessary precaution not to poison our Turkish bloodline with your Greek filth. You were our slaves, and to us Greek blood was and is and will always be as worthy as shit.

That sucks for you bro, because according to history and now genetics, you have a SHITLOAD of this ”shit Greek blood” flowing through your veins :-)

And here's why:

1) Devshirme (and yes, janissaries were allowed to have families)

2) Voluntary conversion to Islam en masse

3) Involuntary conversion to Islam en masse

4) Sharia Law: Under Sharia Law, the penalty for converting to another religion was usually death. Muslim men could marry non-Muslim women (which happened quite often), and the offspring were always raised in the Muslim tradition.

Today`s Turks are Turkefied Greeks :-)

You call us barbarians and Mongolians. Barbarians and Mongolians do not have any mercy when they are fcuked with. So come on and fcuk with us and see what's up.
