E. Because the tc were leaving cyprus in their droves and so ankara had to replace them before there were no turks left!!

What TC's???? TC's denotes Turkish Cypriots. Those ones that are labeled TC's are greek cypriots forced in the ottoman invasion to give up their religion. So wheres their minority again? By bringing in more settlers than there are T/c's, they ensure that any elections/ referendums will go Turkey's way simply because there are more settlers who will vote for whatever Turkey tells them to. We T/c's realise this, but with 35,000 Troops in our midst, what can we do? Many of us were beaten up, and several are still missing from the last demonstrations. |

Cyprus for Cypriots, I hope one day you original TC's find the courage to tell Turkey to leave Cyprus, this is the only solution. Good Luck and when you do this the GC's will I think stand behind you. |

Judged: 2 2 1 . You must be f'ing joking, I rather live with my own kind than living with fascist Greeks who try to exterminate all Turkish Cypriots. Now you want Turkish Cypriots to turn against they are own kind to help you to achieve your dream of Cyprus to become a Greek island. Who do you think you are talking to, school kids? Turkish Cypriots owe their lives to Turkish Army for giving them FREEDOM. You keep dreaming, one day you will lose rest of the island as well. |

Judged: 3 2 1 Letter to U.N. Secretary-General, U Thant Your Excellency, I am extremely shocked to hear the allegations of the representative of the Turkish Government that the Government of Cyprus and the Greeks are planning a general attack on the Turks of Cyprus. As a Turk and as a Cypriot I categorically deny such allegations which emanate from two sources: either the Turkish Government must have received false and misleading information from the terrorists in Cyprus, or it is camouflaging its efforts to attack Cyprus. If the Turkish Government believes the information received from the Turkish terrorists and the Turkish leadership in Cyprus, who try to satisfy their own personal ambitions and to serve foreign interests without considering the unpleasant situation which may be created, it is very distressing. I am not now trying to plead in favour of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, but as a citizen I cannot keep silent when all the allegations made to Your Excellency are quite groundless. As a Turk, I consider it my duty to inform Your Excellency that the Turkish community in Cyprus is not threatened by the Greeks but by Turkish terrorists. In order that Your Excellency may ascertain what I have pointed out, I have only to mention that thousands of my compatriots, who are suffering at the hands of the Turkish terrorists, earnestly desire to obtain the assistance of the Government of Cyprus and thus be saved from their claws. But in spite of this, they cannot have this assistance because if the Government of Cyprus tries to take any radical measures to save them, it will give Turkey the opportunity to allege that it is attacking the Turks. I express my deep regret at the fact that the United Nations Forces in Cyprus do not help the Government of Cyprus at all in this respect. Unfortunately they invariably support the continuation of terrorism and anomaly instead. ... I take this opportunity to say that the efforts of the Government of Turkey and of the Turkish terrorists in Cyprus, who support the dead Zurich Agreements and the creation of federation, do not at all serve the people of Cyprus as a whole. I am absolutely sure that the great majority of the Turks in Cyprus realize this but cannot express themselves because of the wrong policy of the Turkish Government and terrorist oppression. During the period when the Zurich Agreements were in force, the Turkish community was destroyed both financially and morally due to the activities of its leadership which exploited the separatist articles of the Zurich Agreements for its own immoral aims. The Turkish representative at the United Nations and the Turkish leadership may allege that I am a mere citizen and that I never represented the Turkish community in any way. This is absolutely contrary to the real facts because for over thirty years, besides my professional services to the Turkish community, I was elected Chairman of the first political party in my district, formed in Cyprus in 1943 during colonial rule. I was elected Chairman of the main Turkish clubs, chairman of various philanthropic and co-operative associations and was also elected, unopposed, member of the Municipal Council in my town until 1957 when the British Government started to apply the "divide-and-rule" policy. http://ihsanali.org/Default.aspx... |

The Greek Junta didn't invade with an army, ethnically cleanse 200,000, etc. and dividing Cyprus and preventing 200,000 GCs and 50,000 TCs to return to their own homes for last 38 years. The Greek Junta [who were NOT democratically elected by the Greek people and who did NOT represent the will of the Greek people] were carrying out CIA orders to kill Makarios. |
