"Our duty is to fight until the last minute for our country, for our planet and for humanity," he was quoted as saying.'

To be so patriotic and love one's country so much is very touching.

Hi Jose,
Your name says that you are in Miami yet your IP reads KY. I have noticed alot of KY IPs here with countless different names.
Who would have thought that so many in KY would be in the Cuban forum..

Either way I am learning so much about Fidel and what he has achieved.

Are you an avid reader ? If so you might be familiar with the work of author ,Jessica Blacking .

" Though, Fidel Castro is considered a menace by most of the United States government, he did a lot of good for his people. Castro’s first decade in office was shaky, but after realizing he planned too much he instated other companies that led to a constitution and voting rights. This overjoyed the people even more because it led to better health care, living conditions, and education. "

Miami Cubans exgerate about how bad things are in Cuba. I have never seen a skiny Cuban even after being in a raft for 10 days...People that support Castro are the same. They exagerate how good he has beenfor Cuba. Look. I don't believe either side. I have never been to Cuba so I cannot say. But one thing bothers me, if things are so good there why do they keep risking their life to come here? The bad thing is when they do come here they become diferent people, they are not the humble people they were there. They become loud and very violent and want to apropiate everything on their sight. Even White Americans left Miami because of Miami Cubans. I see the history of Cuba as one of shame. Never have I seen people proclaim so much pride and love for their country and the same being neglected for 54 years. Never. The truth hurts. I know...

Fidel Castro is a great man and he will be recognised as one of the true leaders of freedom together with Martin Luther King, Alexander Dubcek, and Olaf Palme.

I think you will enjoy this well written and informative piece on Fidel.

"A Cuban Hero and God: Fidel Castro"

"When Castro first took office, the economy was a mess. Soviet Union relations were shaky. Castro blamed them for selling him faulty equipment when in turn the peasants had no idea how to use the equipment, so it just rotted away (Draper 182). Castro, however, turned this into a victory and the peasants learned how to use the machines that helped the Soviet Union industrialize. Castro even had the problem of the workers relying too much on the imported raw materials, which cost a lot of money that the government did not have especially when the sugar crops kept failing. Castro tried instating the Institute for Agrarian Reform, which made the peasants overjoyed despite the fact that they could not sell their land."

Thanks. I am excited to be there. I think my Kindle Fire will work there. I saw people at the Hotel Nacional using their laptops last year. As you know our mobile phones are useless.

It would be "poetic justice" to send you into the heart of the Sudan and turn you loose - then watch what they'd do to you, white, redneck jerk! I lived through the Civil Rights Movement and watched persons of color treated like animals. Your use of the term, "niggha", is a throwback to sick, racist thinking and has no place in an advanced, civil society.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
