Health Care Reform - Yes, We Need It!

The following are portions of an article written by Sherman Hope, M.D. and a Christian. LOPM has chosen to vent his opinions regarding health care reform citing free speech on this Cuba TOPIC site so I shall do the same. Thus, readers can see that there are thinking, intelligent Christian M.D.s and not all are knee jerk reactionaries like LOPM!

"1. Our current system gives essentially a monopoly to about a dozen insurance companies, who operate to make money for their shareholders, NOT to provide health care.
2. Tort reform is a must.
3. Standardized billing for medical services should be instituted.
4. Portability of medical insurance should be nationwide.
5. Access to the medical community must be available.
6. Health care reform IS NOT socialized medicine. Physicians, laboratories, hospitals, and all health care providers are already under supervision through licensing laws, recertification requirements, etc. Freedom of choice of medical care providers and treatment will remain in the hands of the patients even with health care reform - at least as much as it is now!
7. Access to the medical community also means access to choices in health insurance plans.
8. Preventive health care should be a priority in medical reform.
9. We must expand medical care to ALL our people! Morally, most ethical and religious groups recognize an obligation to help the sick and infirm. Economically, a healthy population is more productive for a society's well being. Socially, our country is more congenial when there is not a great division between the "haves and have-nots". Medically, allowing access to affordable care will help relieve the strain on our Emergency Departments and other urgent care providers.

LOPM gets his info ,his talking points from Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I have relatives like him here in Miami. Who once learning English ONLY watch FOX "news" and listen to Glenn Beck.

To some extent he is a victim of scare mongers who work for their corporate masters.
Corporate CEO's via these scare mongers get the average drone to than do their dirty work and fight on their behalf .

As a physician who is a Sr Advisor on HealthCare Reform, I must insist that Congressman Scott Garrett and congressman Tom Price, MD, have the very best options for healthcare reform. They have plans that will make healthcare affordable to more people than Nazi Pelosi or Obama can. It would also put control of healthcare in the hands of "the people" not the "elite" in government. Do you realize that "the Elite" such as oboma have especial priviledged insurance paid by the taxpayers and that it is unlimmitted, no deductibles, no co-payments, no pre-authorizations, no denials, no caps, and all meds and tests are eligible without question? "We The People" "The Cattle" "The Slaves" paY TAXES SO OBOMA CAN GIVE A PARTY WITH $100.00 steaks! So he can live a life of luxury and unlimmited medical benefits while they connive to socialize medicine and GOD knows what else!

You have just described EVERY politician in BOTH partys. Difference is at least the Dems want many to get health care while the Reps DO NOT.
I admit it will NEVER be as goos as theirs but than we can just keep our own if we want however if you lose health care you will not be "in the streets" as far as health care goes.
The Dems want what Europe has a "safety net" while again the Reps DO NOT.
Don't tell me Europe sucks as other than extreme cases they are very happy with their system.
I don't go by FOX "polls" nor MSNBC "polls" . I go by actual Europeans I have met who for business travel here.
