This is yet another example of irrational US policy respecting Cuba. The US maintains its special law that allows any Cuban getting to American soil to have full rights to stay and work in the US even though the US naturally does not permit Cubans the right to enter the US. The contradiction encourages Cubans to pay Cuban-American smugglers to take them to the US in the dark of night. Some die. Many are returned by the US coast guard. But the US law continues and naturally there will be Cubans who believe (whether true or not) that they can have a better life in the US. The US law is intended only to create havoc in Cuba. No wonder much of the world says "Damn Yanquis"!

Also, approximately 41% of third generation Cuban-Americans who had incomes greater than $100,000 because of mortgage insurance fraud. Yet of the top 100 richest Hispanic criminals in the U.S., more than 50% are of Cuban descent (ten times what it should be on a population basis), and 18% are of Mexican descent. THE TRUTH HURTS

County"]Cubans that came after Castro took power and some of the ones who came after, assimilated and are law abiding are okay. It is the ones who don't want to assimilate and/or commit criminal acts are the ones we don't need. How many of these Cubans are sitting in jail for committing felonies. Look what happened after the Mariel Boat lift. Approximately 19000 of those Cubans were arrested here for violent crimes and have been released from prison after 20 year sentences. They made criminal registration and many gave bogus addresses or never updated their new one. Police check on people who make crimianl registration to make sure they live where they claim to live and many Cubans give addresses that don't exist. In fact I saw was laughing when they showed that scenario on a real crime show and thought I see history is repeating itself.
I know that there are many Cubans who are fed up with the ones who ruin it for the rest but they need to become more vocal.
At this point in time I think the wetfoot.dryfoot policy needs to end.
