My family lost everything when they were chased out of Europe due to religious persecution, too. We never spent 1 minute discussing going back and trying to take our land away from whoever lives there now. The greedy Cubans have helped perpetuate Fidel's reign by scaring the island's citizens into fearing these land grabbers more than communism. Once again the gusanos have shot themselves in the foot.

Yeah, right! I do not want to come back to Cuba. My life there was good, but here is 100% much better. Most of the people who left Cuba have economic reasons, NO political facts. We are lucky with 3 Cuban Americans who are good politicians cheating the American people and the congress to get better ways to get more and more Cubans in America. Here, I can get ways to get lot of money, BMW, social security benefits, etc. Who wants to come back to Cuba? Are you joking?

The issue of compensation is hypothetical. If the socialist system collapes one day in Cuba, human nature will set in. People will feel entitled to what is rightfully theirs: private property.
Many exiles and their heirs will want their property back. They won't care about mere working people any more than wealthy Americans do. Just look at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, where people were left to die in the streets like animals.
