Oceanfront home for sale- Costa Rica- Puerto Viejo(southeastern coast). If you have further questions, please email me at DrBatch@aol.com

Oceanfront Home for sale- Puerto Viejo
We have decided to sell our new lovely, secluded, rainforest/beachfront home on the lush, unspoiled, Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, with tropical, white and black sand beaches. Due to responsibilities at home and work and lack of available vacation time, we must sell our dream home.
Weather is consistent year-round, and matches the climate of Hawaii. You can vacation or live here comfortably during all months of the year. No heat and no a/c is needed. A nice warm breeze off the ocean is always present.
Our home(3000 sq/ft including the decks overlooking the ocean on the upper and lower levels of the home) is located near a willdlife Sanctuary and Biological Reserve and our property consists of 1/2 acre on the beachfront. There is also a small guard house which is also a comfortable living space. The gazebo is located on the ocean side of the property. Several very nice hotels are nearby.
. There are high ceilings and wrap around decks both on the upper and lower levels with a tremendous view of the ocean from all points of the deck. After surfing, I usually lie under the shade trees on the beach in front of the house and enjoy the sound of the waves while feeling the gentle warm breeze.
20 minutes south from our house is Manzanillo. Manzanillo's river kayaking is an excellent way to probe the interior. Hikes into the jungle to visit different Indian reservations give good insight into indigenous life. Other pursuits available for the adventurous nature lover include camping in the jungle and jaunts into primary forest areas like Hitoy-Cerere Biological Reserve, wading far upriver into the interior where you're as likely as not to see several species varieties of poison arrow frogs, as well as dozens of different birds.
Manzanillo is the end of the road and the beginning of many great adventures. From here you can take a boat, a horse, or set off on foot. This area is part of Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, one of the most scenic regions in Costa Rica and one rich in flora and fauna. Nearly four hundred species of birds have been identified in and around the refuge and the only mangrove estuary on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast is here. Several endangered species such as the tapir and crocodile find protection in the park. With off-shore diving as good as any in Costa Rica and enviable weather year-round, Manzanillo is as close to that lost tropical land of your dreams as you are likely to discover!
A nice thing about the living in Puerto Viejo is that you don't need a car. The bus trip from San Jose to Puerto Viejo costs about $6 and it will drop you off right in front of our house. From the house, you can walk to a grocery store and/or into town in a matter of minutes. If you wanted to go to any of the nearby or far away towns of Costa Rica or any other Latin America countries, you could get on the bus close to the house and go anywhere that you needed to go. The transportation system in Costa Rica is much better than in USA.
Why do we want to sell the home? I dont have any free time and only being able to go 1 time per year for a few days is not worth it for me. I would love to keep it.
Do you rent the property out as a vacation home when you are not there?. No never. I used it as a vacation home only but not a rental property. If you wanted to rent it out, however, it would pay for itself and more. Many people ask about renting it out because it is located in a very good location.
Any neighbor homes that you can see from your home? The view from the front of house is the ocean, view from sides is jungle and view from back if you stand on ladder to look thru the rear windows up high is a neighbors house but its far away.

$250000 - Beautiful House on the beach in Costa Rica (Playa Coyote/Costa de Oro)
An amazing house, an amazing beach,an amazing country. Pura Vida is the slogan in Costa Rica - and it cannot get any purer that Playa Coyote. The House is 1 1/2 years young. Drinkable well water, electric, hot water, Directv already installed just need to turn it on in your name, the phone has been ordered but not yet installed. There is one large bedroom upstairs which has a balcony and an terrific view of the beach. It could easily be split into 2 good size rooms at a low cost. This room is lined with some of the most beautiful wood in the country. The whole house has many large windows - we really wanted to make sure we could catch the view of anywhere, but then we found we did not spend that much time inside. Plenty of space to hang hammacks even on the patio. The lot is 30 x 50 meters but this does not inlcude the area between the fence and the beach which I think is about 25 meters. There is coverd patio on three sides of the house which is all ceramic tile as is the inside main floor. Beautiful ceiling fans which came from Home Depot.
Twice a week a fresh produce truck comes to the beach. it is 5K to the small town of San Franciso de Coyote where there are 2 small stores and a hardware store. 8K to Pueblo Nueveo where there is a bit bigger store and a small clinic. Abut 35K to Jicaral where there is almost anything you need - bank, post office, applicance stores, clothing, etc. takes about 45 minutes to get there. It takes about 2 hours to get to Nicoya where there is a hospital.

All utilites can be paid online thru the Banco Nacional, including directv. Except for January and part of February the beach is practically deserted. The people that live here are the sweetest people - but thats Costa Rica for you.
I have a map and photos I could email.

your property has been for sale for years. How about being realistic about the price. Have you noticed. There is a worldwide real estate meltdown taking place.

Am looking for a house with a bit of land 2-5 acres in less humid ( off the coastline)?? more central area of the island. Have never been, but Chicago's last winter did me and my son in. He has a difficult arthritic condition...needs cleaner air, less traffic, more calm environ. I've been a school counselor and can't afford a move , unless it is to some place less expensive then the states. A rental could be fine, but I am ready for a permanent move. Any help in this direction would be so appreciated.
