Spain celebrates Columbus, descendants defend his legacy

Colombus only brought terror to the western hemisphere. The dominican republic is majorly of african descent and thanks to him and the spaniards along with most europeans. We still live in mental slavery. Good hair bad hair, all that bull. Everyone wants to be so european, even though they are not. We have to deal with tryign to speak like a spaniard, and are ashamed to speak our africanized spanish, "ke lo ke". We also have to deal with false borders like the one diving us from Haiti. We are one people, one african brethren, we even come from the same regions of africa. The only thing dividing us is a language and lots of ignorance. In central america and mexico they have to deal with borders and all these names, guatemala, el salvador, names that never existed prior to colombus. In wish the Anauhac people of mexico lived as one stretching from the midwest USA down to central america. Thankyou colombus, for, wiping out millions of native americans, enslaving millions of africans, and bringing over with you all these dividers that split the land like cake. Thankyou for making it so that everyone who does not look like you, is born inferior. Thankyou.

Well, I'm not happy about what Colón did in America, since it was a hard and violent conquest althought History tryes to show this like a "friendly" one. But I don't think it's so different to other many invasions...

Spain was only motivated by greed and a hunger for power at the time and used Christopher Columbus for its needs and in turn christopher columbus used the native (Tainos)inhabitants that were there for 100's of years before he arrive to build his wealth on the backs of my ancestors that were made slaves to feed thier hunger for greed and killed off over 10.000 human beings in a short period of ten years after arriving in the new so called world. Religion had nothing to do with the new world, religion was used to hide spain and christopher columbus's hunger for wealth and power.
Evan today some native Dominican's are not aware of the destruction and lies that they have been taught as the real history of thier owen poeple.
So for this Dominican there is no Columbus day parade, to celebrate what? the killing of inocent poeple for wealth and greed, no sir not this Dominican.

Yes all that is true I´m not proud about the past.
But there was also good people as Balmes. He was a spanish doctor who went to America and saved millions of lifes with his vaccine. Is the only good think that I can say now.

Haitian's and Dominican's have not a thing in common. the Haitian black's were brought by the French from Africa. The Dominican black's were brougt by the Spaniard's from Spain; they were called the "African Munk's"
and their is no such thing as an Africanized Spanish. Dominican's speak spanish but some vocab word's are taken from the Taino language; for example, Dominican's got the word "hurricane" from the Taino. a lot of Spanish speaking countries say "que lo que" it's the modern way of saying "que tal" just like some in America say "what's good" instead of "whats up"
