so, is this about ending homophobia or imposing a gay agenda on jamaican artists?

i read the article and the author seems so distraught over jamaican culture, he neglects to answer his own question and doesnt even outline a scenario under which Banton could be forgiven.

Buju does not need any forgiveness from gay people ... no one does! The article was written with sympathy towards gays and some of the translations are incorrect. The translator was not Jamaican but probably from one of the other islands. Buju did not request the meeting he was invited by the Mayor of SF but the way the article was written you would assume he did. Doesn't the US own the Virgin Islands whats the facination with JA.

I have several Jamaican friends, and I've been told being gay is a big deal in Jamaica..Which can result in death if exposed.....Forgive him for what??? He hasn't done anything but except ppl. for who they are?? Respect is what I'm gathering.

Jamaicans do nothing for the economy.We already have unskilled labourers in Canada,we don't need a lower-class uneducated jig,to get rich off of us.I wish that the draft was reinstated so that all of these at home warmongers would have to go away,and the crime rate would go with it.

Buju Banton and the other anti LGBT performers call for violent and hateful vigilante action against LGBT people.

After one equal-rights-for LGBT people in Jamaica activist was hacked to death, people gathered outside the home where the mutilated body was and sang the chorus of "Boom Bye Bye" in celebration.

I've always wanted something bad to happen to Buju Banton. Hope Buju gets a long sentence and sent somewhere far and cold (like Minnesota or North Dakota) to serve it. After which he'd be deported and can never perform in America again. Serve him right; bash gay people too much.
