Where Manitoba is concerned, not only do they need more prison beds, they need to hire more crown attorneys, pay them more, and make them actually get off their asses and work so they quit making "deals" with violent offenders. You know, "plea-bargains". F*ck that, try actually doing your job and securing a just sentence so the animal can't leave the klink until they're a senior citizen. You wil magically see the crime rate in Manitoba drop.

I'm sure that's true, but mostly for public mischief or small offences. Not much you can do about that, but it's the violent offenders that need to spend a couple decades of winters in stir, like the FAS case who punched a 60 year old female shopkeeper in the face for a pack of smokes... lock a f*cker like that up for at least a decade.

Crime is actually going down in Canada. Down!!!! And crime has been going down for quite a few years.

This means that there are actually less people to go into prisons and yet that stupid bugger, Harper, wants more and bigger prisons.

The corporations that stock materials for prisons, like TP, uniforms, guard uniforms, food handling equipment etc. must want a bigger market in Canada.

Harper is a man known for sucking the corporate dick, he is likely the man behind it.

Violent crimes and sex offenses should have sentences reduced to 1 to 5 years, Prisoners should be forced to dig rocks out of the ground with their bare hands and carry them around the prison yard so that their hands and backs are hopelessly mangled by the time they crawl out of prison. Water-boarding and/or face-stomping for any problem inmates.

Contract out these prisons. Let some "Wal-mart" type build and run them. We do it with infrastructure already (bridges, garbage, water plants etc,) so why not.

These Privet super prisons are popping up in every province. why to combat are decrease in Crime? No There for corporate interest. Paying Privet corporation to jail Canadians will only promote the privet corporation to create problems to generate prophets for there jails.

Completely agree but criminal-loving, bible-thumping, bleeding-hearts won't have any of it. They believe that a home cooked Sunday chicken dinner followed by reading passages from the bible is all that's needed to turn criminals into obidient, god-fearing citizens. The parts of Leviticus 20 in which "The LORD said to Moses" to "put to death", "you must kill", "stone them" usually makes for a rousing after dinner conversation.....

People are so pissed with the revolving door crap, and the terrible police response times, and ineffectiveness of our cops in many cases (Winnipeg)that they are no longer bothering to report most stuff./

The f**ken cops love throwing out statistics to show they are ahead of the curve but they sure are not.
