NOT including a 50 % Hike in Fuel Costs & Food etc.
... The multibillion-dollar gap between what Ontario taxpayers send to Ottawa and what they receive in federal government services is still there despite more than three years of hard campaigning. Ontario's Conservative MPs seem to be just as useless in pushing the province's interests as the Liberals were when they were in government. Ontario still gets treated differently from other provinces when it comes to health-care funding, employment insurance and infrastructure allocations. Ontario's McSquinty gets mad at Ottawa for not suporting Ontario enough etc..He's complained in the past.
Newfoundland wants more control over it's resources. They get called everything from beggars to welfare bums by many in the rest of Canada and the media. Don't get me wrong, Ontario needs infrastructure monies and rightly so, like any province, but the double standards of name calling by many in this country is ridiculous. |
