ASP.NET AJAX Server Control for Myanmar Langauge Input

Blog posting in Myanmar script has been very time consuming process due to luck of standard web component for entering formidable Burmese script. Most Myanmar will not be trained to Burmese language typist. Now the game is over. Burglish, an open source projects for Myanmar Langauge Processing System, has release beta version of BurglishTextBox, an ASP.NET AJAX server control . BurglishTextBox use Mark Soe Min's javascripts for intelligent conversion of Romanize Myanmar phonetics to appropriate Myanmar words. The AJAX Server Control is developed by Hnandar Developer Network (HDN) team.

Now typing Myanmar script is even easier and faster than English. For example to write (ေမ&#4 140;င္ ့က&#41 41;ုခ& #4154;စ္ တယ&#41 53;) just type (maunt ko chit tei). The main developer, Kyaw Tun, said "This will help a lot to Myanmar community". Since there is no one-to-one equivalent from phonetics to Myanmar words, a list of possible words are suggested in a context menu. User can choose from the menu by keyboard shortcup, mouse or completing the word and hit enter or space key. The beta version can be try at ZawGyi.Org .

Burglish server control has full design-time support in visual studio 2008 IDE. One installed, the control appear on the toolbar can use it by usual drag-and-drop from the toolbar, point-and-click arrangement and setting by property editor using. Definitely it is saver for web developers. BurglishTextBox supports CSS styling, adaptive html rendering base on user browser, font fail back scheme and javascript catching. Javascript script catching is important for a web from having many text boxes. One interesting note is, althouth it is AJAX component, ASP.NET AJAX toolkit is not urequire to be installed in the web server. This save hosting cost because most windows hosting service provider charge premium fee for AJAX support. One limitation is BurglishTextBox does not support on older version of ASP or ASP.NET 1.0. Most Myanmar web site still use ASP and addition of ASP support will be great.

Use English, mate. Most Burmese know English, not like you guys from Japan. Burma used to be a British colony.

By the way, stop using that stupid word MYANMAR for Burma. That word means DOG in Thai. We are Burmese, not Myanmarese nor stupid dogs as the mad generals want to be called themselves!

How come you hate Burmese so much. I guess my English (above posting) is better than yours.

I guess that 56 Burmese men and women suffocated in the back of sealed container in Thailand wouldn't give a shit about Myanmar script in computers.

They were starving first and now they are in hell for the sins of greedy and power hungry generals of Burma.

They faced the same brutal end like that over 80 students suffocated in the back of lone-htain's jail-truck on the bank of Inya Lake in 1988 uprising.
