I was visiting the prison where these 3 girls are
going to be spending the next 20 or so years. They had been in this prison for 2 days when I met them. I spoke with the mother who is 22 and the 19 year old that has a small lip ring on her bottom lip. The 17 year old didn't do much talking. These 3 women are going to be in this prison for a very long time. They are lucky that they are sleeping on a cold bare floor with 2 mattresses and a blanket. The windows in the room where they are staying have bars on them but the cold night air circulates inside. It gets very cold at nights. They were wearing the same clothes for the 5 days that I was visiting. I told the 22 year old that the media stopped me outside of the prison entrance and asked if I were a parent of any of the 3 girls. I told them no, just a visitor. The 19 year old told me that she was mad at the Norwegian media because they were making the world aware of the drugs that were in the ladies luggage. She was kind of mad because she had wanted to go to Miami after she made it out of the country. She miscalculated the drug dogs at the airport. The 19 year old is still in a state of shock. She knows her life is ruined. The 22 year old is trying to con her way out. The 22 year old spoke with me in English and then started talking in French with the other 2 girls that were lying on the floor holding each others hands with a look of no hope and despair. These girls don't know Spanish and are not trying to blend in with the other convicts. I will follow this story and see how many years these poor girls get. |

How stupid were they?
Don't they know that going to a third world country and buying cocaine is a very bad idea! |
|
I think it's quite obvious they didn't buy 22kg of cocaine. They were being paid to traffic it.

Anyway...
Buying or trafficing, same thing! Cocaine is cocaine! |

If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime. Their best bet is to have their friends raise money to pay off the right corrupt officials.
