W&M graduate killed while volunteering in Africa

William and Mary graduate Kate Puzey with a child in Benin. Family members of a Peace Corps worker who was found dead in the west African nation of Benin said she lived to help people and was optimistic but not naive.

If she stood up for people who couldn't, you can bet the murder was politically motivated. Parents, don't be so naive!

Take heed...never allow your idealistic daughter or son to venture into a third world nation in order to "change" their world...very sad, it's like taking a stroll in the bad side of town at 2AM...nothing good will ever come of that.

I don't know if anyone knows the complete details yet - so I think it's premature to call the parents naiive.
If Kate helped a villager in a domestic violence situation and she murdered as a result of it, I would not say that was politically motivated.
It's a terrible murder, but one that could happen anywhere, when you have a compassion individual trying to help out another.
