POLICE in Minsk had the keys to the home of a pro-democracy activist when they raided his flat on Wednesday, according to Belarusian opposition news site Charter 97 , which reports that the officers beat and arrested the Young Front member without issuing a charge.

Do these apartments in Minsk come with a spare set of keys for the KGB? What am I thinking....they don't need keys, don't even have to knock, just come and kick the door in.

News, they dont need the keys: the flats where usually "foreigners" stay are bugged. Not all of course, but at least those where the "intruder's intentions" have not been established. Routine stuff in the old soviet republic of Belarus.
