Rihanna needs to realize that her rise to "fame" was due to luck. She speaks of dreaming about her career; but to me it seems she was just dreaming, for hadn't her firend mentioned her to the relevant people she would have still been in Barbados waiting for something to happen. She needs to be careful of what she's saying because she is still fresh out of school and many of her classmates can now step forward and reveal her own behaviours at school, which we have already heard has been described as snobbish. Some black people feel that becasue their pigmentation is lighter that they are better, and from reliable sources who have seen and met her personally, saying how she couldn't careless what people say about her cause these people out there are stupid, she taking away their money, just like the rest of entertainers. I hear that she lugs herself around as some goddess. But my dear Rihanna, you're only photogenic-- that guy who you tired to lure at some bashment at the cavehill campus in Barbaods did not think you were beautiful enough to attract his attention, so stop with the snobbery. He had class..his friends thought he was whack because it was "The Rihanna", but he is smart and has scruples. Stop thinking that ppl should worship you because you are popular. Your album needs to go many times platinum to even try to be the diva you're seeking to be. The people in Barbados know who you really are when you return... stop trying to make the rest of the world see you as a victim! Be humble-- you aint really reach anywhere yet... give yourself 5yrs if you still on top we'll see. Rihanna, Barbados knows who you really are.....it would be soon time the rest of the world knows.

Wow...talk about inflammatory. This sounds more personal than as an outsider looking in. Did she do something to you personally or are you just going on what was said about her by other people?! Snobb? maybe she's just shy. Speaking as someone that went to the same institute and had things said about them that wasnt true...unless htis is first hand experience then u shouldnt say thins like that about someone u dont know. A lot of it sounds like jealousy as well. Whu are u so focused on if she's pretty or not?!Wether she's pretty or ugly doesn't matter once she's got the talent and the staying power. Put that in ur "pipe" and smoke it. Cawmere finest wrote: Rihanna needs to realize that her rise to "fame" was due to luck. I don't think that you guys should say these things about Rihanna. She is representing Barbados, and that's great. Be happy for her and Barbados, after all she put the country on the map even more. Don't hate. It does not matter what happened in the past, the people of Barbados should be buying her CD's and giving her the support that she needs, in every thing that she does. Try to keep her at # 1 and remember she does represent Barbados, no matter what, she flew all the tridents in her first video. Be proud and happy, for once Barbados has a RB singer that has made it BIG.

Why should we support someone that said that they don't care about us?That is just plain stupid!I'm not going to lie.I love her music but she needs to get rid of her attitude cause they are the reason people fall flat on their faces. You don't understand why Barbadians are not supporting her and you probably will never fully understand. When she first got her break,EVERYONE (literally) supported her.The radio stations played 'Pon The Replay' everyday so don't come on here pretending that you know what is going on cause you don't.Its a matter of respect for where you came from and sticking to your roots but she is bad mouthing everyone that helped to put her where she is not and that is WRONG!!!Plain and simple.I like her music (well most of it anyway) and I'm going to support her but I don't think she should be expecting that from all of us because in that newspaper article what she said was really harsh (she said she doesn't care what we think of her at all and that we are ignorant and all that)and Barbadians are NOT going to take easily to that.So before you come trying to be better than us or what not, examen ALL the facts and try to think from our point of veiw.

I think you are taking this a little bit to serious, she only said what she said, because she belive that she was being bad mouth by the people of her country (Barbados). I read that article also and I really did not think it was a big deal. I think you are taking this personal, and you should not. At the end of the day she is going to make her money and lots of it. You should not belive everything that's in the media. I don't live in Barbados, so of course I don't know every thing that she said when she was there or what ever the case was. All I am saying is that the people of Barbados should support her and be proud of her that's all, no matter what. And you should take it easy, it's all good. And I am sure she cares about her people, I don't think she has an attitude, and I don't think anything I said was plain stupid. I am just telling the facts. Once again don't take this so serious, because she will keep making her money, so just relax, it's not a big deal, be happy for her. Don't hate. I saw in one of your comments you metioned the word fete what is that?

I'm not taking it that seriously cause I love her music no matter what.I'm just saying that she should not be bad mouthing our whole country because a few of the older generation had a problem with her.But other than that every supports her. When her first video (Pon The Replay) came out it was a really big thing. There was this like programme on t.v for like an hour talking about it.And they did that with her second video too. Here we recognise everyone's talent.Every big enternainer that we have here whether they are a singer, dancer, artist or whatever they are we recognise it. Oh and a fete is like a party at a club where you have to pay. There are DJs and stuff and dancing and drinking and stuff like that.

Rihanna got things hot up!!!
my view on this is, as long as she holds no acitve role in your personal life, disregard her every word and actions.
if she is supposed to fly high and fall jus like most of the other superstars who start to lash out at the mere public, then you jus sit back, watch and ensure it doesn't mess up your day.
Rihanna sells at the moment cus the music is good but if she is pompus & snobby as is bein said, then the fans/public will deal with her as they deal with all the other stars who act the fool like that...
intially, i was happy for the little bajan chick who hit the scene & havin her dream come through. now, with all the negativity fallin from her mouth, i jus listen to the music - as i said it's still good - but i lost the admiration & pride which existed for her...
there's no need to be bitter, jus let the little bird fly cus as the bajan sayin goes
"black bird does fly high, but it can't live in de sky..."

I wonder who Rihanna is spending her money on as her father still sells odds and ends on the streets of Barbados for a living and still catches the public bus to get around.- SAD, SAD SAD STORY. I thought little girls loved their Daddies.

Well my whole view of this situation....im just voicing my comment....Rihanna has been in this business less than 3 yrs....i had the pleasure or misfortune? orf well seein her while i was in NYC at the four seasons and how she and her friends acted to a worker at the hotel seemed uncalled for.... she was not entirely rude, but she could have been a little more respectful to the dude...i like her songs...well most of em anyway,,, but wat i wanna put my finger on is the fact of how light she has gotten...i know her father was black wit a white parent and her mother is black from guyana, but how come her skin tone gotten so light in recent months? i mean check her out in pon de replay how brown she was and now she is extremly yellow...almost white. and wuts up wit her and chris brown? they have matching tats in the back a their necks? can anyone answer my questions?

Apparently her dad was a drug abuser. I got that info from a statement she made about not gettin into the drug life like other celebs as she watched her dad battle with drud abuse.
She needs to realize that she was once a 'small fry' so whether a hotel worker or a garbage man, treat people as though they are PEOPLE.
1 thing i can say about when people get into showbiz, alot of changes occur. She left here with what we call 'poxy' skin(scarred skin) & now there ain't anyone's skin prettier than hers; so in the case of the lighter skin, although people do get lighter in a cool environment as opposed to the hot sun givin you a semi-permanent tan in the Caribbean, lotz of changes occur when people get into showbiz; money finanaces opportunities for various changes in physical appearance.
Analyze this - young caribbean girl(a small fry) hits the US, blue/green eyes(not sure) with brown skin. This combo already has the ability to sell; afterall, this is unchartered territory. All that is needed now is the standard showbiz upgrades to REALLY sell. It happens to everyone. Give the public what they want; whatever that is...
