Best of Australia

Jun 8, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Sydney Morning Herald

My brief to Traveller 's most intrepid writers was straightforward, though not simple, as I learned when the ideas started to flow: document the best of Australian travel; not just fine and fun recent trips but the unforgettable adventures, those memories that linger longest, that have enriched their lives.

People expecting free tomato sauce and endless coffee - free anything, like tips even when the service is rude and lacking - are more arrogant.

I was white water rafting in cairns and the Americans there were having a blast, we even went drinking with them after and we got along awesomely! They said how wonderful the people were here and I was telling them the same thing about America.
You're not american and I dare say you've never been to Australia!

The slanderous, divisive, non-Western, non-US-located, anti-Western astrotufer, Mr Humbert (using a US proxy location) has probably never set foot out of Asia, let alone visited the US.))

Humbert's only role over his thousands of posts (registered and unregistered, and also with other aliases), is to divide solid US-Aussie relations (with hyperbole, lies and slander). Chipping away, for years he has been. ;) What a sad little soul. lol Trying to store a mammoth, Google search hit-list of hate for the average Joe to peruse. 1000s of posts of BS.

Yet, some major non-Western powers/factions would see value in causing friction between one of the closest cultural and strategic friendships on the planet. Hopefully he is being paid to waste his life.)Futile cause though.

To Mr Humbert:

Personally, being in Australia is like being at home. Americans have more problems living in Europe. Working at it, aren't you, you anti-Australian fcukstain ?:-) Your mountain of anti-Australian bile is staggering.

Minnow Australia only has 23 million people. A small economy. Leave them alone.)

Australians are a great people and the cultural bond between Australia and us, the USA, is unbreakable. The US is Australia's LARGEST investor, you idiot. Sigh.

In fact, Australia is more traditional, more Western than our country, than just about any British-settled country.

Its much more dominated by UK and European peoples than the USA is. This is why I and many Americans also like Australia, despite me personally having no qualms about different races/cultures.

Most Americans feel Australia is "like USA was 20 years ago" (a comment one hears every few years), in terms of being less stressful with less social problems (despite what BS you read on Topix).

Besides, a lot of Americans live and work here. We have increasing military operations and presence within the Australian region. We have global strategic missile defense surveillance based there. We have strategic interests in east and south Asia. You're an uneducated loon. You're against mainstream USA. You're against US government wishes. You're a divisive anti-Western fcuk. ;-)

The West stick together, especially the culturally similar countries of Canada, USA, Australia, UK. If not the wider EU/West.

I have been there a few times myself and ( not everyone of course) but many are a bit arrogant; or they just to be anyway; maybe now that their economy is going down the drain and there empire is crumbling; they have become more humble. and are learning to co exist with others on equal basis.
