As the resources boom begins to wind down in a few years, Australian manufacturing will once again show how strong it is.I don't think either side of politics will help too much , so we will do it without them.We should concentrate on our domestic market as a priority , because we are more than capable of making anything we need. We will not sell our agricultural land to overseas interests , but we will ramp up production, to make sure their is abundant food for the needs of ourselves and all countries in the region and enough to export further to countries who need it.We will rethink the need for more immigration , making sure to preserve the unique Australian culture that we have . We will encourage every house in Australia to have a garden, a chookshed and solar panels on the roof......we will continue to enjoy a few beers at the pub, whenever we want, and have a roast pork dinner once a week, and bacon and eggs for breakfast(and weetbix or vegemite on toast). The future is looking good,so I expect some jealousy posts from the usual suspect trolls who just cant handle it....hahahahahah!

What's weetbix on toast like?

Who keeps saying the resource boom is ending? KPMG say we have $93b of projects waiting approval +$40b+ of delayed projects & over $150b either started or due to start development that in all will see us into the next century. Between now & 2015 100,000 more skilled workers will be required, 240,000 by 2020.

I didn't bother reading this post because I simply do not care.

But I will way this. Australia is a dump, and the only thing it's got going for it is Crocodile Dundee and this wonderful forum.

Australia is miles above the USA.... at least we have jobs. if you Americans stoped bothering about policing the world and took 3% of the money you waste you ruining countries and spent it on your own people maybe you would still be the #1 economy in the world.

Resources will start to taper off around 2015, slowly.......China will slow to aproximately sub 7% growth ,because of less demand from the European and US consumer markets....a lot of proposed projects will go ahead , because they get a tax concession, making them still viable to proceed.....

Again FOO according to who?

I think people assume because coal is starting to wain the whole mining industry is - not the case.

Thee are 2 huge (massive) projects waiting final approval in central qld - both Indian I believe that will employ 20,000 people between them & their talking of building a whole new town for 15,000 more people to service the mine & workers (cafes, supermarkets etc). Around Bowen there are several gold mines due to re-open & Indian interest in a Thorium mine. So for the few % China slows India is gaining. Weipa is due to start a expansion, Nhulunbuy will do a expansion in about 2020 both will employ tens of thousands more (combined) that means more work for Gladstone & then there are huge gas projects due to start or in the pipeworks. And this is just FNQ.

You seem to be operating at a slower pace than normal today, which is frustrating. Maybe you're feeling tired and listless, or you've hit a series of snags. You might also feel overwhelmed by duties and obligations, particularly if they're connected with your job or with neighborhood activities. Perhaps you need to delegate?
